I second that, considering the creative brilliance that came out of lego meme weekend, we have to have some clever brains around here and some infographic artists savvy enough to put together a "what's up with the financial world and how does gamestop fit into it?" powerpoint. I'd take a crack at it but it would likely come off about as cohesive as Laura Dern in "Citizen Ruth", so I hope the professionals step in.

i think the point though is that that whole golden ticket, once built from factionals and assigned to "book" but in the same account that is enrolled in the Plan, might still be available to brokers to "locate" when they're asked where that share is they sold short.

That is to say, if I decided to purchase an electric car (after having invested $10k in electric car company “Company X” for this example), then my bank could see that I’ve already invested $10k in Company X and would give me a more favorable loan toward purchasing the electric vehicle from Company X? As opposed to being a non-investor before seeking a loan to make on an electric vehicle from Company X?
perhaps, but if your 10k were invested in a computer company and the shares were still registered in your name instead of at a broker, and you went to a bank to get a loan to buy an electric car, the bank would still just see you have $10k of assets in securities, and consider that in offering a loan.
