  1. What are you posting here for - more validation? More people to tell you it sucks?

  2. You need to gain residency in the new territory and cut off everything with your home country. Germany is reknowned for being very strict in who they class as tax resident for citizens who move abroad.

  3. The key to long term happiness living abroad is a place where both of you can find good work.

  4. Dude. Find someone who is going to make you happy not one who makes you question everything about yourself.

  5. Very few entrepreneurs make money doing what they love off the bat. Sounds like there are many bases you need to reach before you even get there - like your ability to make money and a steady income steam.

  6. There are much better investments out there for your money today.

  7. Ok cool. I guess I would be looking at a somewhat decent monthly ROI so maybe BTL wouldn't be the best play. Easy money seems to have gone from property for sure.

  8. Entrepreneurship and financial freedom are two different conversations.

  9. If you have kids, a live-in helper is a massive improvement in quality of life. Not having to waste time on chores that could be better spent on family and hobbies is a massive difference in QoL. If you don’t have kids, a weekly housekeeper can give you the same QoL boost without having to house the helper and lose privacy, but it’s completely different with kids.

  10. If one partner is earning $6000 or less, they would be financially better off and less stressed swapping FT office work for PT WFH.

  11. PT WFH is some kind of rare pearl that people earning 6k or less can never find.

  12. Better agency maids start at $1k plus add $600 for the extra room. Agency fee and insurance aside. If no commute also means no car, also save 2k TCO. Means 3.6k net or under 5 gross which is slightly below average salary in Singapore. Not even factoring in WFH or PT income.

  13. You can choose to get infuriated by these interactions or you can choose to play with them.

  14. Didn’t read. Which product do I dropship for easy millions?

  15. Acknowledging “how important it is to get an education” is exactly why study culture exists.

  16. Be mindful if you quit on acrimonious terms your employer may make it difficult for you to get the short term visit pass you need to stay temporarily and apply for a new job.

  17. We can only wonder what Owen could have been, given the kind of sports medicine, rehab and support players enjoy today.

  18. Yeah it is sad indeed. Especially when you consider back in the 90s and early 2000s a knee or hamstring injury were basically considered career killers and guys were out for 2 years with knee ligament injuries.

  19. Good point. I imagine pros today work a lot more on strength and power. If you look at Owen he’s a skinny lad, not much muscle to support that speed and prevent injury.

  20. Life insurance / endowments as an investment strategy are terrible.

  21. I took my kid out to lunch a few weeks ago to Jolly Pasta and at the table next to ours there was this smarmy middle aged guy intensely selling this life insurance scam to this young couple the whole time we were there. Part of me wanted to warn them they were probably getting ripped off.

  22. All due respect to Malaysia, but efficiency is incomparable here. Different leagues.

  23. Exactly. Anybody who’s crossed the checkpoint from Singapore to JB will feel that difference.

  24. Let’s not call them jap restaurants. Japanese would be fine. I know it’s shorthand but so is “Nip”. It’s a little disrespectful.

  25. Yes but it was potentially 0.2 Yen in the hands of entrepreneurial criminals.
