  1. Did you know, 99% of expelled Representatives end their comeback bid to Congress right before winning reelection?

  2. Other comments have added. But just to reply, some people take issue with the fact that Neil specifically talked in defence of Israel but then not of Palestine and had not previously commented on conflicts and harm towards Palestine.

  3. Genuine question: what do you think “Zionism” is? Anyone who thinks that there should be a two-state solution (i.e. a state of Israel next to a state of Palestine) is a “zionist” in the most basic sense of the term.

  4. Hey man, don’t know if you got the memo, but you’re supposed to say Zionist now

  5. Yeah but you’re just “antizionist” /s

  6. I’m not sure about you but I see buildings and above land explosions. Good job you moron

  7. What do you think Hamas digs their tunnels under?

  8. It’s unbelievable that every criticism of a government policy is antisemitism. Unbelievable. No words.

  9. https://www.hrw.org/news/2019/04/23/us-states-use-anti-boycott-laws-punish-responsible-businesses

  10. Not going to defend these laws—they’re pretty bad! But it doesn’t change the point that no one says you’re an antisemite if you criticize the Israeli government. And by throwing around that disingenuous phrase it allows people to excuse actual antisemitic acts.

  11. Lol No. I quoted your comment. Will put an edit to avoid any confusion.

  12. If they wanted to destroy the hospitals, why couldn’t they do it with bombs from the air?

  13. No, see, it’s genocide, but because they’re Jewish they’re sneaky about it

  14. My dog has become attuned to the sounds of the blessings…she usually starts barking and jumping when we say kiddush 😂

  15. As a future Jewish law student (in application process right now) this post and its response is…sobering. I know law schools can sometimes differ from their undergrad populations…looks like this is the case. Was hoping to see something pop up on this sub that showed Jewish law students were faring a bit better than undergrad, but I guess not.

  16. Keep in mind that Reddit is filled with people who may not represent the typical law school demographic. When I was in LS I didn’t see this level of antisemitic conduct

  17. If you have been out of law school for 5 or more years know that there’s been a sea change. The posters on reddit are the new norm.

  18. I’m actually a ‘22 grad, so my experience is a little more current—but obviously there’s probably been another drastic shift the last three weeks

  19. Why don’t you tell us exactly why?

  20. Can you explain how literally murdering babies is self-defense?

  21. To give this teeth, they should add a blanket jurisdiction stripping provision that would go into effect if (1) term limits are struck down and (2) the Court has more than 3 justices serving past the term limits envisioned in the bill.

  22. I tore my will up in front of two witnesses with the intent to revoke it ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  23. I remember something like this happening on the Federal level in the past as well. There is an FEC Commissioner who was appointed initially by George W Bush in 2002. Her term was intended to expire in 2007 but she has remained in office for 15 additional years (and counting) because every President since Bush has failed to get replacements through the Senate.

  24. The FEC has a crazy design and nominating rules/norms. Ellen Weintraub is a Democrat and is actually a powerful voice for campaign finance reform and enforcing the laws that are on the books. Even though she’s been on the FEC for almost 20 years, she’s still doing good work and can be replaced by any president once Senate Dems decide there should be a change on the Commission. Totally different case than the one at issue here.

  25. I have no issues with her as a person, but the situation at the FEC has essentially nullified the agency’s authority, preventing it from even attempting to enforce the laws at all for most of the past decade and a half.

  26. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I think the FEC has been kneecapped from the inside by the GOP commissioners, and it fails to do its job due to Republican obstructionism. My only issue with your comment was using Weintraub as an example for why the agency is failing.

  27. Why not vote for the one that (1) currently exists and (2) opposes all this misogynistic bullshit?

  28. but this ruling gives more power to elected leaders it was Roe that took it away.

  29. Only if you ignore Rucho, which says gerrymandering is okey-dokey! Sure, you can vote for your reps, but even if you have a supermajority of votes you won’t have majority power (see WI in 2018)
