  1. Anything Brontë will have a good dose of cloud, mist and rain for you!

  2. I'm sorry, but the only things I liked about it was their wedding and their reunion (and subsequent adoption of Dominic).

  3. I agree. A faithful adaptation of Anne's House of Dreams or Rilla of Ingleside (if they wanted to visit the war) would have been much more satisfying!

  4. One of my favorite shows of all time. Season 4 has arguably one of the most raw episodes of television that I’ve ever seen.

  5. Can I ask which episode? (It's been a while since my last FNL rewatch), it is such a good show.

  6. MTI and Concord have cost estimators on their website and they’ve been very accurate in my experience. TRW doesn’t have estimates but the prices are in line with the others in my experience.

  7. This. Also, any time I've had more questions I have to say Concord (UK) have been extremely helpful and efficient too, easy to get hold of them.

  8. Calling anyone from the UK who is not English an English person will usually irritate them a little bit.

  9. Your first point is what I came here to say, absolutely get your head around the difference between the UK/ Britain /and England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland... And maybe Cornwall for good measure?!

  10. I love the Megan Follows adaptation (perhaps leaving aside the last one) and like others I wanted so badly to like the Martin Sheen one but just couldn't. I have to admit... And I'll say it quickly... IlikeAnnewithanE! I didn't at first, and I didn't want to- but if I don't look at it as Anne of Green Gables but rather some stories loosely based on some of the characters with a twist of modern sensibilities then... it's warm, charming and fun watching. But if you expect an adaptation of LMM's gorgeous books then it will be highly frustrating.

  11. The Winnie scenes are a very slight nod to the books and Anne's jealousy over one of Gilbert's 'flames', so I guess in that way it makes a bit of sense?

  12. Take a class if you have a bit of spare money? Crescent arts centre usually has a range of stuff going on.

  13. I know Liza Weil played the staffer who leaked Leo’s medical records, but I’d love to see Paris Geller get into an argument with one of the especially quick-witted staffers like Josh or Sam.

  14. Exactly what I came to say. I dream of this cross over!

  15. I realized this after reading some bestsellers I found at charity shops recently. Worst offender being the Midnight Library by Matt Haig. Had heard of it before, apparently sold brilliantly with great reviews. Genuinely some of the stupidest work I've ever read; self indulgent, passive, predictable, ridiculous. The prose was painfully slow and the character agonisingly thick. The concept was both unoriginal and badly done, whole thing was complete shit. Made me want to jump off something high. And people read this.

  16. How lovely! One of my aunt-in-laws is a big reader and LOVES Anne almost as much as I do. It’s so lovely to have these kindred spirits in our lives.

  17. Middle earth is almost as lovely a place to take your child as Avonlea... A touch more dangerous perhaps!

  18. Danny DeVito as the judge, with the rest of them as muppets please

  19. Depends what you mean by romance, there are some beautiful tales written bringing couples together and definitely have some big romantic moments. It's not all kissing on bridges, bit I think the books are very romantic... Look to Anne's house of dreams, but read the others first!

  20. Mike Schur's How to be Perfect? (It might not be right, but read it anyway, it's excellent!)

  21. I have to learn to be a little more Marilla, like Anne I am usually wild with joy or in "the depths of despair", moderation is required!

  22. I had the same experience. It was a lot of fun. I think someone posted on here a Hercule Poirot jigsaw by the same company, which I am going to hint at for Christmas.

  23. I found the one stashed in my partner's wardrobe the other day... Looking forward to Christmas 😂 Jigsaws are one of my favourite things to do, ideally paired with an audiobook and a glass of wine!

  24. My springer never seems cold. In snow and cold he's still panting from running around. In fact, he seems more comfortable in the colder weather than the summer heat.

  25. Mine too, I can sense his relief when the colder weather comes around!

  26. What an interesting way to read them, I rushed through each and every one of them in a hurry to find out whodunnit! (Though I also figured out ackroyd as a friend lent it to me saying "there's an AMAZING twist", and then it just sort of came to me!

  27. I also love Katherine Brooke's story. Anne is a bit of a Mary Sue when it comes to charming people, but really for Katherine it was the magic of Green Gables. Which I related to when first reading AoWP as a kid, while my parents were going through a nasty divorce, because I totally thought if I could escape to Avonlea too, everything would be better. Everyone at Green Gables welcoming Katherine for Christmas, and the puppy!, is one of my favorite things in the whole series.

  28. I couldn't put my feelings about Katherine Brooke better! Her arc engages me every time I reread!

  29. I adoooore Gilmore Girls. But it is my #2 show. The West Wing is my #1 show. The writing. The stories. The characters. 👌

  30. For the moment where he opens the framed napkin alone, I voted for him. Tough decision though, I hope the rest of my day is easier.

  31. Your colleague sounds awful... and like maybe they do this sort of thing habitually to make themselves look "smart". It never fails to amaze me how many "questions" begin with... "It's really more of a comment than a question" which then gets followed up with some waffle only designed to make the commenter look good. Hold your head up, I reckon (hope) a lot of people in that room will have been rooting for you.
