  1. I’m with Commbank and my easy workaround is to not have any money to steal

  2. Well it's not like wage cuts are rare these days.

  3. King Gizz are as adventurous and experimental IMO

  4. They sure do. When I lost my brand new $400 airpods, I was able to watch them dart across town for a few days while the new owners carried them around.

  5. i always wondered how their fan girls reacted to their style change? did they still find them attractive?

  6. There's a video from 1967 on YouTube with a talkshow guy interviewing teenagers after showing them the Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields clips - it's quite fascinating (and divisive).

  7. I can play Martha my Dear after a fashion, and I am no great pianist. tricky to sing it at the same time.

  8. I can play it and sing it at the same time. Had to work like hell to get to that point and drove my girlfriend’s housemates at the time absolutely mad with hearing it.

  9. And I wanna be a black bug, in the belly of the beast beast beast beast!

  10. I took it a step further. 3 days a week! Mon, Tues & Thurs I’m in the office - legal admin.

  11. Why is the answer not "Her Majesty" being tacked onto the end of "The End" on Abbey Road?

  12. Because it’s perfect there? Beatles were all about happy accidents and I think finishing without it is too pompous.

  13. came here to say the exact same thing, but you beat me to it 👌

  14. Came here to say it too. 100% should not be on such a progressive album. It would fit tucked away on Beatles For Sale perfectly.

  15. I’m set to interview him for a gig he’s doing at the Rockley Pub soon. Any requests?

  16. What kind of gig is he doing? Does he play music? If so, what’s the vibe?

  17. True. Went from a 43yr old bossing barristers around to carpentry and was treated like dogshit

  18. Huh, bossing barristers - I’m a barrister’s clerk, was that you?

  19. The bar may not be around for more than a month if they do.

  20. Retropolis in Preston - guranteed to find a bunch in there.

  21. They all sat in a dark room and jerked off together

  22. RHCP - Californication, featuring the return of John Frusciante. After the disappointing One Hot Minute, I remember the hype being huge to have John's classic guitar sound back.

  23. I remember it being so hard to wait for the Green album - probably the most hype I can remember. And also probably the biggest musical disappointment of my life. Kind of hard to believe the same band could put out two albums as good as the blue album and Pinkerton, then take god knows how many years to come up with an album as bad as the green album.

  24. Same. Hard agree. Sounded so pedestrian and easy (maybe with the exception of Hash Pipe)

  25. I think because the songs sort of about acting maybe it spoke to him?

  26. This Boy was always one of my favourites! Great chords and build up in the chorus

  27. Yeah, such restraint to only play that section once too. Each time I play it I wanna do that whole part again!

  28. This will get downvoted to hell because you cant say much of anything critical in this sub without an army of gatekeepers throwing sugar babies at you, but love is not blind---

  29. Agree with everything you said except the bit about Her Majesty - to me, that's perfect Beatles character and humour to leave that in. They never took themselves seriously enough to end with full pomposity (as great as it is in their hands).

  30. Yeah, you're right, and I know you're right. and it really changes nothing...

  31. Haha, very well written. I enjoyed reading that. Writing high works for you.

  32. I always assumed it was a purposeful choice by the artist when slightly [Or sometimes hugely] delaying/Stopping before repeating a previous lyric or chrous line.

  33. Huh you’re right, where did my brain pull 24 from?

  34. Quite often it’s quoted that he was only 24 by the time they made Pepper. Maybe that?

  35. He did have a short career, but you can't focus just on the most famous period. He formed the King Kasuals in 1962 and released his first recording in 1964.

  36. Didn’t realise he lived THAT long - nearly 300 years?? Incredible

  37. A few times a year. Mostly for family birthdays

  38. I read that answer in the context of a few joke answers in here..

  39. The same song references the song “Cio-cio-San” by Puccini from the opera Madam Butterfly.
