The situation you two are in initially worked for you both, but things have changed for you and now it doesn't. Life happens. I think, House saying he would have wanted to hear, "You were right. You did the right thing," is touching. Very in character and I think my kids would have liked to hear it from their dad. I wouldn't have minded hearing it from mine.
