  1. But of a shit job. At the least is should’ve been fixed to that wall. Straightforward job but whatever you are expecting for materials it’s probably more. The last few reruns above ground with copper I’ve looked at the owners we’re expecting less than a grand and materials alone were more than that

  2. Damn, I wasnt aware copper pipe is so expensive. I guess the other question is how urgent is this? Am I expecting a burst pipe at any moment?

  3. 28yo i did a traineeship with a Mining company, 8:6 roster 90k as a trainee, 120k 6 months later qualified. Applied internally for another role now I'm on 130k as an apprentice mechanic and I absolutely love my job and colleagues. I'm now 29, own one home and about to buy an investment property.

  4. Do you mind me asking how you got the traineeship? I’d love get a heavy diesel mechanic apprenticeship but can’t afford the the low earnings for the traditional apprenticeship pathway

  5. Get trade/tickets in construction or do something in the outdoors that will keep the ADHD in check

  6. How to do this in early 30s and not able to commit to apprenticeship due to low pay

  7. They have taken the bridge and the Second Hall. We have barred the gates but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes...drums, drums in the deep. We cannot get out. The shadow moves in the dark. We cannot get out. The ants are coming.

  8. Clean the area, use bondcrete for adhesion. Then use a high strength mortar mix and trowel it on at an angle sloping away from the shed slab.

  9. Appreciate the detailed response. Will give it a go

  10. I'd give it a quick clean up with a trowel and a wet mortar like mix. Alternatively. Consider getting in a concrete cutter in to trim off the absolute minimum to have a straight clean edge.

  11. Thanks for the advice. Will get some flashing and mortar. Unfortunately concrete cutter will require taking out timber batten to get access so can’t go down that path

  12. I did FIFO for 6 months, it’s a slog. I did 5/2 4/3 so I was back every weekend, but it was so much flying and it was exhausting. I think an 8/6 roster would be more manageable.

  13. What was with the alternating swing? What job if you don’t mind me asking?

  14. Want to put hybrid wood flooring in this room. Need to get rid of these two old water pipes which I think used to be attached to the hot water system before an extension was added to the building. Can’t get under the house to see where these go to. I’m thinking I could chip away around concrete and recrimp the ends below current floor level while the water is off at mains? Or do I just need a plumber?

  15. I have some online courses I'm doing, including recently enrolling in the TAFE WHS cert because it's free in my state at the moment. I also try to get around the office/campus and be a bit more social on my days in to increase the networking.

  16. I was an exercise physiologist, now in public health/project management in govt

  17. Did you do any additional training? How did you go about securing the job?

  18. How come there are two close to each other?

  19. Are these a Victorian thing only? I’ve never seen them anywhere else.

  20. on the road sales maybe? I used to work in sales and would work from my car between meetings all the time

  21. Damn dude, your right arm is super long
