Most reviews, of anything, are fool addling junk selling the pseudo-competence of the reviewer to a gullible crowd. It has to express "mixed" feelings to be taken seriously, so it uses what is a matter of taste or what is imperceptible to do so and magnifies tiny differences out of proportion.
I always recommend second hand amps. You can often get really nice deals on modeling type amps too, because a lot of people start with one and then realize they want a specific kind of sound and get a tube amp that specializes in their style and look to trade in/sell.
Would the boss katana 50 be too powerfull an amp since I don't plan on using it for gigging just practice at home. I currently have some used sx ga1065 but it acts up sometimes and doesn't sound great so I need an upgrade.
I just got a Katana 50W yesterday, so I haven't played with it much. There is a power switch that allows for "bedroom" levels. My office/guitar room is really small and the 50W was able to play at acceptable levels.

Pick type is hard to give advice on. Best thing would be to spend 20 bucks or so and buy a bunch of different sizes and thicknesses. Play a bunch and you’ll find the right one. Personal bias, but I’d start with Dunlop Jazz III’s. Good luck.
You can play any genre of music that isn't seven or eight string stuff on any electric guitar. Will it be ideal? No. Can you play surfing with the alien on an encore strat and a battery powered amp? Damn right you can. I'm sure the guitar you have currently will do until youve learned more, if you were going to upgrade anything, your dodgy sounding amp would be where I would start.
Yes, I held the three buttons until I got to the recovery page, then I went down to the factory reset option, done that and then waited till it finished
I already tried that path and had no luck. The warranty cod doesn't bother me as I am resetting the phone so that I can sell it, and plus I don't even think that it still has warranty on it.

Hmm the only other method I could think of is way too drastic and void warranty etc so why not go with the forgot email option
