  1. I honestly thought that was the same person at first.

  2. glad you were able to catch up to him. Was he walking quickly or running when you were after him or no indication of that?

  3. OKX wallet's change address design is a bit different from the standard one which resulted in this issue.

  4. I bought a Lenovo Thinkvision M14 during Black Friday but not specifically for the Steam Deck. I had a 20% off coupon on eBay and there was an other rebate. Overall, I got 100$ CAD off on this monitor. I was tempted by the new Thinkvision M15 or the AOC I1601FWUX which are both 15.6in, but decided that 14in was good enough.

  5. hi, how's the M14 holding up? I'm thinking of picking one up and curious if you still like it. Is it bright enough? enough contrast?

  6. It's good. It works for me. I never bought it for the steam deck, but for me, it works. I can hook it on a car mount and connect the steam deck and play with a xbox controller. Great "mobile" solution

  7. I'm only going to use it for work (no gaming), ms word, the web, email, slack etc

  8. It's free for personal use, up to a certain number of installed devices. I have over a dozen installs on my devices, to access my 3 servers. If you read their licensing docs, you'll find your answers.

  9. you're quick! thanks, this is helpful. On second thought I think I want to spend even less than $750 and I want the larger chunk of that to go towards the CPU, RAM and and MB. Not sure how important or required it is to get a separate Video card or use the integrated one with the CPU.

  10. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8bW6Xk

  11. okay, good to know. I rather spend way less to be honest. I just said $750 because I don't know how much parts cost nowadays. I prefer to spend $500 or even less.

  12. Program Files is accessible to all users on the machine and requires administrative access to install to.

  13. The only ereader that I know of that is a current generation one and has an audio jack is the storytel reader. But I wouldn’t buy that unless you plan on paying for a Storytel subscription forever. The device becomes completely unusable once your subscription expires

  14. ya, that's not going to work but thanks anyway.

  15. I know, I only turn it off at night before going to bed. Ideally I like to be able to put it on a schedule so it automatically turns off the Wifi every night at midnight until 7am for example. Not sure if any router offers this.

  16. I can't offer a comparison. What I can tell you is that $200 for a softener installation is a very lowball estimate.

  17. hey, I'm considering an Excalibur as well. Just curious which model you have (superior, premium or the value)? and how is it holding up now? and what's an 'RO' system?

  18. It's important to keep in mind that both sides need to be multi-gig. Meaning your router port needs to be at least a 2.5Gig port. Even if you get your router from your ISP and have multi-gig speeds, the LAN ports of the router are still only gigabit.

  19. good point, that's my next step. To see if it's even worthwhile/cost effective to get a router with a 1.5/2.5Gig port. My current router only support 1Gig.

  20. With powerline you will never see the advertised 1500 Mbit/s. Get Moca if really necessary, which would be expensive, or just run a cable for 15 bucks.

  21. laptop is too far from main access point so running a cable isn't really an option. powerline advertises as 1500 but not getting anywhere near those speeds. More like 100-130 down. Plus I use a vpn so that doesn't help. I'll try these adapters. thanks.

  22. Wifi direct is for peer-to-peer. The xb8 doesn't need wifi direct because you can connect to its wifi. What are you trying to do?

  23. I realized today what I really meant. It's not 'wi-fi direct' but Beamforming. That's the question I meant to ask, i the XB8 has beamforming.

  24. thanks for the info. So what's the point of 'wifi direct'?

  25. Nothing. Plug it into the wan port on router and you're good to go

  26. I thought I had to put the rogers xb8 into 'bridge' mode.

  27. it's the 'other stuff' I'm trying to find out how to do. lol

  28. news to me, thanks for that tip!

  29. Is the lack of ceramic bowl a significant issue? I'm just overwhelmed by options, and what's legit vs. a scam...the Fury Rogue SE looks really, REALLY appealing but idk if there are better options!

  30. the Rogue SE is O-kay. I don't think I'd buy it again. Infact, I might just sell it. The bowl is too small in my opinion. It's okay if you want a really small/quick hit but that's about it. I bought the capsules so that helps and convenient. The advantage is you can grind your herb and fill the capsules ahead of time with various strains and take it to go and it's an easy cleanup. Maybe without the capsules the chamber might hold a bit more? I don't know, haven't tried it, I always use the capsules as I don't want to clean the chamber.

  31. So I just looked into it, and the Arizer Air Max is on a massive sale right now — might spring for it then??

  32. you're welcome. There might be a bubbler attachment, not sure. Probably, it's a pretty known brand so my guess is probably, just need to look.I used to have an Arizer Solo 2 and that wasn't that hard to clean. Just soak the glass in iso and give the chamber a wipe with a qtip and some iso and that's it. The Max is built similarly so cleanup should be similar I imagine. Let me know what you think of the Max if you get it.

  33. second. But after getting lucky on Ebay, only to later realize how lucky I got: I'd recommend you check out

  34. good idea but those are only in usa I believe

  35. Good point. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe at least mpb also serves the UK, maybe elsewhere too. If you are where those websites serve, you do also get the added benefit or not just their warranty but not risking buying gray market items from eBay (items with serial numbers tied to other regions which restrict where they can be serviced).

  36. I'm not in the UK but I'll have a look. I didn't know that about serial numbers, good to know. Thanks.

  37. The 35/1.4 is louder and the AF is slower. Is also not WR. Still, I’d take it 10/10 times, the images it produces are insane.

  38. It all depends on what look you’re trying to achieve in your photos. If you want ultra sharp high contrast no coma no chromatic abberation look, go for fuji lenses. Mitakon 0.95 is a specialty lens for super buttery soft look for portraits.

  39. Why dont you use it? I used my dyna for a year straight before getting something stronger. I still use my dyna.

  40. well, for the longest time I had the crappiest lighters (they'd keep failing on me) so that was a deterrent. Triple flame was too much, single was not enough. I got a dual flame and it's much better and it doesn't fail. I don't like the fact that you need to keep refueling though. It's not exactly conspicuous to use in a public setting. The chamber is quite small. I think those are the main reasons.

  41. I've been using NFS between my Synology NAS's and my Shields since 2015 (I have 4 Shields on my network sharing a MySQL DB on the NAS). I started out on SMB but it just felt wonky. A couple of times watching movies on my original Shield, the SMB connection would just drop for no apparent reason (on gigabit Ethernet) and I'd have to reboot to reestablish it. I then started searching for solutions and came across many NFS success stories so I switched over to NFS and it has been rock solid ever since so I've never looked back.

  42. I'm genuinely curious: why would people pay for a non-OEM keyboard that they need to charge separately? Needing to charge it and connect it to the surface via Bluetooth, rather than through the bottom keyboard connector, seems like an unreasonable hassle.

  43. I like having the screen at eye level (e.g. on a laptop stand), and still be able to use the keyboard but the MS keyboard won't allow me to do that. That's where this non-ms keyboard comes handy for me. bonus points that it's usb-c rechargeable. Otherwise I find the MS keyboard is great.

  44. You should be able to connect your sound bar to the TV, since your shield will be connected to the TV it will pass the audio to your television and your television to the sound bar

  45. Thanks, that should work I guess. I need to get an RCA to RCA cable and connect the soundbar to the tv. There will be a little loss in audio quality I imagine by doing this as oppose to HDMI to HDMI or bluetooth.

  46. No, not how it works. Your audio loss will come from the TV DAC if it’s not great, but even with a sound bar with HDMI they have a DAC to convert it. Just might be a better DAC.

  47. Thanks. I ended up connecting the soundbar to the Nvidia via bluetooth.
