  1. I could cry thinking about it. It's the perfect song: lyrics, tempo, production.

  2. I'm going to show my age, but Keep Pushing by REO Speedwagon is my go to when I'm starting to cave. There's a line at towards the end that says "I never thought that I'd be where I am". I'm already getting all choked up.

  3. I have cheap ($20USD) bluetooth earbuds that have an over-the-ear piece to secure them. I feel like regular buds are going to pop out of my ears. The battery life is many hours.

  4. Yes. I too had posterior tibial tendonitis. Dr said that I had ramped up the miles too quickly. PT gave me exercises. Lots of calf raises, some resistance band ankle work and hip strength work. I still ran, but kept the miles low and only one or two times a week, always stopping if there was pain. I healed up within about 3 months and was able to get back at it and increased mileage with no more problems. PT advised against ever running 2 days in a row. I'm 50 though, so that's probably good advice even as a preventative measure. PT also said this particular injury is often tied to hip weakness.

  5. Hey there, I’m 43 and commented a few days back to OP. I can’t see a PT, so I was wondering if yours recommended gluteus medius exercises? I’ve been doing those and I took 6 weeks off running. I started again super slow, like I barely hit 3 miles after 3 weeks of running every two or Three days, and the gnawing pain seems to be breaking through again.

  6. Yes. I think a single leg step up on a bench was one and something where I did kind of a squatting walk with a resistance band. I had a run analysis done by the PT which found nothing that would indicate a problem with form, or physiology. Because this injury happened pretty early in my new running routine, he seemed to think that it was all about the overuse too fast. The injury coincided with the start of winter, so dialing back the miles was easy. Treadmill running was easier on my body, despite my dislike of it. I also did acupuncture, but I have no idea how much it helped. Good luck.

  7. Cream cheese and jalapenos or pickles wrapped in salami. Throw shredded cheese in a frying pan until it's crispy. Mwah, bon appetit.

  8. Best advice is to don’t do it, since it will almost assuredly lead to shin splints at best and more realistically a significant injury which will take you out of commission for weeks or even months.

  9. I work in the legislative/policy field, and my boss pronounces statutes "statue-ettes." It's wild.

  10. ME TOO!! It's a quirk I kind of like about this person.

  11. This is why I don't like long runs with other people. I enjoy a 3 mile chat. Any longer and I need to pump up the jams and get my very own flow going unburdened by trying to please other people. When I break through my 7 mile mark, I often just tune into my surroundings and try to enjoy the beauty of the seasons. Occasionally those last three miles are easier than the first three, which I live for.

  12. I sat and got to know a knotty pine paneled wall. I fell in love with the beauty of champagne bubbles. No such thing as bored on shrooms.

  13. I'm in Minnesota. Nose breathing makes the cold much much more tolerable. I'm not a natural nose breather, so it took some getting used to. I struggle at < 10F because my eyelashes freeze and the nose is running constantly, but I feel like kind of a champion for even trying.

  14. Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, MN is really beautiful. Late June along the north shore of Lake Superior is perfect weather.

  15. I have the same shoe and a similar gap as recommended by the store where I bought them. Even if it's considered good, I'm just not comfortable.

  16. Woo-er here... I only do it for the final All out of the final tread block, usually... And I'm sorry if my Woo-ing offended you. That being said, I aint gonna stop.

  17. That's right! Someday I'll be a woo-er. I'm starting to give way fewer shits these years.

  18. Please don't stop being you. The woo-ers make the world go 'round.

  19. I knew it would be bad when I didn't even get sore until Friday. I was still jello on Thursday. Still sore.

  20. I remember feeling that kind of weird pressure while riding a bike at 15 weeks. You kind of get used to it more as you start to grow. So exciting!

  21. Aaannnd, it's official that Amazon has embedded itself so much in our collective psyche that 75% of us were like "Amazon milk has a frog mascot?....ok..."

  22. Thanks man. I was never this way. I read some where I forgot where but this is one of the results to doing low carb keto life. All kinds of good positive things come out when your heart is not motivated by getting something in return but simply trying to help those in need. I get this reward that no amount of money can ever fulfill. Thanks again

  23. Well jeez, now I'm crying and shit. I have 4 years of sobriety. I was thinking tonight about how overwhelmingly grateful I am lately. I used to cry because of self loathing and regret and now I'm crying all the time because I'm just so grateful for everything like reading this thread.

  24. I'm right to hate the person who quickly pulls open a door at the same time I'm pushing it open to exit.

  25. Yesss! I'm in tears. Thank you for being an inspiration!
