  1. I had my Note 9 do this and I thought it was dead. I couldn't get no response from it other than it was accepting charge. Fortunately I do electronic repairs and have tools to test it. I used a USB diagnostic tool so I could see it was charging ok. These are cheap and extremely useful. I connected it to my computer but got no response either. What had happened was the phone had soft locked itself meaning forced shutdown or restart wasn't possible. To get it working I connected the phone to another device to leach the charge. Once it was completely drained I charged it again and it worked. Never happened again after that one incident. You could have a similar issue. Also remove the sim/sd card as some have had this cause locking up issues as a cause.

  2. Ok I will bite one last time. I have never once said that Nvidia is strictly better than AMD. It has always been on a case by case basis. And at MSRP both companies are within like 5% of each other. That isn't enough for AMD to start to overcome Nvidia.

  3. The 800W will be from Transient power spikes and not full load power draw. +800w even for a microsecond is absolutely ridiculous and that sort of loads is enough to trip or damage poor quality 800w supplies and above. These Transient spikes are extremely difficult for the average person to diagnose when they shut your system down. Imagine running a heavy cpu task. Say taking up 400w. Then you load a game. Huge 800w spike with total 1200w. A real good quality 1000w supply would take it. If you don't know what this is you'd be inclined to replace the GPU, CPU and or motherboard and likely not think it is your PSU as it happens in special cases like gaming.

  4. These are awesome but the program is mothballed and probably won't get dusted off until energy storage/generation and heat dissipation technology leaps a few generations. Maybe just in time for space-based weapons.

  5. The barrel or rails do not last long compared to barrels of conventional cannons. The super heated plasma and intense electromagnetic forces destroy the weapon fast. Rail guns use tremendous amounts of energy and take time to charge up. They are slower to fire than conventional guns. Not only that. The intense electromagnetic energy that is used to fire each projectile causes electromagnetic disturbances near the weapon. You can't have sensitive electronics work reliable near a rail gun. The intense emp pulse is enough to affect radio equipment vital to coms. Worst case enough to destroy transceivers close enough. Excellent weapon on paper but practical use. Not worth the extra precautions. No material we have is suitable for long term use.

  6. My dad let me watch the thing when I was like 8 and I had nightmares for years. Ironically now I love the movie, but that wasn't cool lol.

  7. That movie fucked me up for years as a child. Having an Alaskan malamute as a dog. Couldn't sleep in the same room as that dog and it changed the relationship I had for that dog for a long time unfortunately. That movie as an adult now I see as a masterpiece. What made it so terrifying is how realistic the effects are especially for an 80s movie. Even now they beat CGI effects. That movie is a piece of art in visual/atmospheric story telling. I purchased a rare collectors edition last year too.

  8. Be Quiet Dark Base Pro case. Excellent choice. I have rev.1 for a build in 2017. Was so impressed by the case I got the same but rev.2 I put Tron Blue EL wire around mine to give it a Tron theme

  9. English isn't my mother language, but I still knowed that.

  10. Same. I have a 1 year old that decided sleeping is for wimps.

  11. I was willing to actually buy Office. Then I noticed it has a yearly subscription fee and fuck off.

  12. This sort of bullshit ultimately turned me to purchase software from the darknet instead.

  13. To be fair, the people who don't have nukes are in danger of being enslaved/conquered by the people who do so that is important calculus.

  14. True. We Humans are a very violent and territorial species no suprise. The more aggressive these traits were during our hunter gathering years the more likely your group/tribe was to survive. These ancestral traits are still with us today and they are not going to go away any time soon. If we all got along the very existence of territories (Countries) would not exist at all. This is one reason I hope to god we don't meet Aliens. No freaking way we'd ever get along. We can't even get along with differences in skin colour!

  15. Hopefully someday in our lifetime, it mutates into something far milder than it currently is!

  16. Well. It is in it's best interests to do so. Covid isn't sentient by any means ofcourse. However. Viruses that don't kill the host and allow them to be infectious without making them seriously unwell are most favourable. The common cold has perfected this.

  17. Haha. Jesus that was a read. The man needs serious help.

  18. Why the hell are you there at level 64? I'm 120 and still in the snow area. I only know about Crumbling Farum Azula because of the teleporters at the Belfries, lol.

  19. Zamor Ruins in the snow mountains is such a good rune farming spot the Knight Zamor easy one hit you but dropping 5k runes per kill. Leveling up is very fast and easy. If you use casting spells you can jam them against walls so they can't dodge your casts. You get I think 40,000 runes per sweep in less than 5-10 mins

  20. He's not really and very easily died a few days later. Arc flashes are around 20,000°c Much hotter than the surface of the sun vaporising metal. They release an intense amount of infra-red heat and also UV. That intense light on skin is instantly absorbed and and turned in to heat causing burns. So if you survive the initially event. The burns get very deep and cell death occurs. Organ failure can result as so. The UV burst on top of the thermal burns causes sun burn too. Eyes can cataract too. They have special suits for working on substations.

  21. As long as there is Fentiman's Curiosity Cola or Kofola I'll be ok

  22. Fentimans cola when cooking slow cook pulled pork is legit god tier btw.

  23. Belters only. Make me feel good. That fucking piece of shit dance tune is on my top 10 most hated songs. It's absolutely not a belter and it could be made by child on dance ejay. It's par with Pharell Happy.

  24. The Kremlin does have a prospensity to lie even about the most mundane, insignificant things. From what I can understand, they refused to admit Zhirinovskiy's death for two whole weeks, until right before his funeral. People even made jokes about "Shrodinger's Zhirinovskiy", who's both dead and alive at the same time.

  25. Maybe build more radars and put them everywhere if they are much cheaper, then they won't know what to listen to and what to ignore.

  26. If only it was that easy. A new radar install would take months to build especially for static installations. They use a lot of power and the logistics involved make it very costly. You don't just place them in random locations either. If you have stations too close they can interfere with each other. Phased array radars use constructive interference as an advantage for target aq but older radars can destructive interfere with one another. Moving AA around is a tactic they use. You tend to move launchers after a missle launch.

  27. I wouldn't celebrate just yet. Who knows what Putin has in mind next when the city is free of Russians.

  28. Retreat troops to safer areas. Launch chemical attacks. Wait. Advance on area with little survivors.

  29. I’d put money not a single chemical attack happens.

  30. I would very much hope so. To put a lot of money on it isn't a bet I'd take especially with how RU operates.

  31. I'm not Russian but I have a close friendship with a girl living in Russia and communicate almost daily. The older generation especially ones in more rural parts of Russia are very much for the war in Ukraine. They are exposed to the full state propaganda. Her parents think the war is necessary despite her pleas... We talk via Telegram. Most things they used to enjoy are gone or blocked. VPNs still work but access to the west is becoming increasingly difficult. She is very lucky to still have her job but she knows its a matter of time before she won't. The money she saved to travel is now essentially useless and for many its a breaking point. So much has been taken away and it won't return overnight. If you have any questions I can send them her way and respond here.

  32. I am no doctor or expert in neuroscience so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I have had sleep paralysis like yourself very often. I can't count how many times I have had it. I think it is triggered by serotonin imbalances. I find if I drink coffee close to bed time which increases serotonin levels I will either lucid dream or get sleep paralysis attacks. Back when I was a student and enjoyed the rave party days. I ofcourse had substances that depleted serotonin and sleep paralysis was way more common. Doing exercises balances your brain chemistry and is probably why you don't get it no more. I exercise a lot now and I haven't had it in a long time either. Serotonin i believe is the key to it.

  33. Took me a second to realize you weren’t trying to say “in-laws.”

  34. "In-laws" haha. I really needed a good laugh with all that's going on. Thanks man that's hilarious.

  35. He's still making music but under a different name I'm sure.

  36. They pretty much zip tie them to the cable tray and they’re usually under a thin sheet metal covering.

  37. I would use standard zip-ties with stainless steel ones every 0.5m or so.
