  1. See my comment above - I found out that my ex-husband and father of my children is my 5th cousin. It's distant enough to not really matter, but I wonder how many people end accidentally marrying relatives. Without DNA testing, you'd never know!

  2. That my ex-husband and father of my children is actually my cousin. I found out when his sister randomly connected with me on 23&Me.

  3. When Encanto first came out, I had about a dozen people, completely independently, tell me that their first thought upon seeing the movie was that they thought Mirabel was an absolute doppelganger for me.

  4. Russel Crowe as Javert in Les Miserables. Great actor, but frankly his singing voice was just not up to par, especially when compared with Hugh Jackman.

  5. I had to explain to a Vietnamese acquaintance the important difference between 'bugging' someone (ie. annoying them) and 'buggering' them.

  6. I love how the compliments also feel genuine. He's not just giving empty flattery or blowing smoke. The specificity of each compliment makes them sincere.

  7. Writing. So many people have an idea for a story and manage to write a few pages and give up before finishing. I think people underestimate how much time it takes to complete a writing project, and become frustrated that their first attempts are not great, Writing is a skill like any other - few people are brilliant straight away, but just like any skill, the more yo do, the better you get. You just got to work through all the shit writing first!

  8. I had to have an emergency wisdom tooth removal at the dentist. The whole thing was quite traumatic and upsetting, but somehow I managed to make it through the appointment without falling apart.

  9. Aw this made me well up! I hope you are feeling stronger now xx

  10. Yeah it was a year and a half ago now, and I've built a whole new life for myself, and loving the single life now.

  11. I quite forgot how to get work done without it.

  12. Yep down for me. I can log in, but saved chats arent showing, and it is unresponsive. It's funny how much I rely on it these days!

  13. Private schools don't have to follow the same rules, but Ofqual put the menstrual cycle and a whole load of different contraceptives into the science/Biology GCSEs, so that's nice.

  14. Actually, since a change in legislation, from 2020, Sex and Relationships education is a legal requirement of all schools, including the independent sector.

  15. Insane, TIL. The way the independent sector teach it can still be a bit old-fashioned though, I've seen schools get in religious organisations to cover bits of the SRE curriculum in ways that I found abhorrent.

  16. I am head of PSHE in a private school, and I work with other heads in other private schools. In my experience, it is being taught in a rigerous, thorough way. Sex is discussed frankly and openly and the distinction between state and independent schools isn't (at least in my experience) significant.

  17. The "Before" trilogy - Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, and Before Midnight

  18. I see a giant edge on which a house rests, walled with huge planks and huge leaves growin on it. Only the handle(?) on the bottom left breaks the illusion.

  19. We should have an epic deathmatch where all the Noahs fight all the Mohammeds for boy name supremacy.

  20. Can someone please explain for my non native English speaker friend who is clearly not me. Thanks

  21. Lo-fi is a genre of music. Also, it sounds like "loaf-I", hence bread's favourite music!
