  2. He’s a 94 OVR card. There will be people telling you he’s not worth it because there’s better cards out there, but the truth is the difference is not as big as they make it seem, especially if you’re not a DIV1 player and just play casually.

  4. Did Savard and Xhekaj start the game paires together or is that in game adjustment?

  5. Every game vs Buffalo has been entertaining this year

  7. Honestly, I fear injuries have stunted his development. Like someone said, with his size, skills and grit his ceiling was a Getzlaf type of player, but now I’d be happy with Ryan Johansen production level.

  8. If Slafkovsky becomes Lecavalier, does that mean Caufield is our St-Louis and Suzuki our Brad Richards?

  11. Am I crazy to think Simoneau would be in the NHL already, or at the very least be very close to it, if he was 6'2?

  12. If you're looking to ice the most competitive team possible, there are probably better options except for Gretzky, Lemieux, Howe and a few other ones. With that being said, they're great cards if you like those players and don't want to have to chase the highest overall one everytime a new card comes out. People will make a big deal about abilities and slight attribute differences but the truth is it's not as big of a difference as they make it seem, even more so if you're in division 3 and down.

  14. If we trade for one, it'll probably be a Rem Pitlick guy who goes on to score 8 goals and 5 assists in 20 games. Everyone will pencil him in on the third next season only for him to not meet expectations at all.

  15. Smart move to trade him to the least desirable place to play in the NHL to increase the odds of him signing back with MTL this summer.

  18. Quebec would also work well. They have the Videotron Centre which is mostly used by the Remparts, and those games sell out. They would be thrilled to have a professional team after 30 years.

  19. I am also certain that TVA would love to have the TV rights to that team to compete with RDS, which has MTL’s rights. Also, the rivalry between Québec and Montréal would be marketable events that would draw a lot of eyes on the league.

  20. I’m a glass half-full type of guy so to me this is relatively good news because it means he can decide to be one or the other depending on the situation and I feel with a good coach to help him manage the game this can be huge in the playoffs.

  21. Pezzetta seems to be doing better this year. His last few fights are quite similiar. Gets in tight and throws as quickly as possible and looks for the takedown. I expected MacEwen to destroy him.

  22. Looks like his work with Laraque this summer paid off haha

  24. Of course that’s a possibility, but you need two teams to trade and there’s no guarantee there will be a talented forward available who happens to fit the timeline who plays on a team lacking LD.

  26. MSPs should have 2 to synergies and a “free” ability.

  27. Maybe they were extra cautious knowing our luck with injuries and simply didn’t want to risk making it worse without having a proper look at his knee.

  28. Guys that can win face-offs, play the PK, and have some physical element to their game would definitely earn contracts.

  29. I think this would be an "or" situation. A guy who can do all three of those things almost certainly already has a contract and is playing 8-10 minutes somewhere in the league, even if he's not providing much offense. Hell, there are guys who only do two of those things and still get NHL minutes.
