I have read it. I'm aware that migrations don't always work. I'm sure WhatsApp is aware of it too. Backup-related stuff has been in bad shape for a while, I wish it would be fixed before introducing new features like end to end encrypted backups. I've not been able to back up my chats for years; I rely on full iPhone backup for this (which works well), but it's not ideal.

You need to keep paying the telco for your phone number or this can happen. If you change numbers, you should use the change number feature. Now it's too late.

You should be able to see your list of blocked numbers by going to Settings -> Privacy -> Blocked. That way you can see if the number is still blocked or not.

Depending on your computer the software will be built in (for Mac) or you will need to download something (for PC). You will need to unlock the phone after you plug it into your computer to slow the backup. If touchid or faceid is still working, that should be sufficient to unlock.

The most important thing is to not give the six digit code to anyone else, even a "friend" who says they accidentally sent you a code. If it's a hacker, this is a common tactic they might use to compromise your account.

I can go back to the beginning of chats but only on my phone. On web, the recent changes make it so you can only go back a little while.

Be careful with people DMing you about this stuff. They might be suggesting you install scam software that compromises your account.

There's no merge functionality that I'm aware of, so I think it will only replace. Use with caution.

It depends. Some of these extensions are benign and don't cause any problems, but some will compromise your account and start sending spam. Because of these issues, WhatsApp may ban you if they detect you're using third-party software.
