  1. The best cards that work for us are Scotiabank visa passport or AMEX. 3x points for the former and 5x points for the latter when you shop at Sobeys plus the scene points that come from those anyways. We then use them to reimburse for flights as we travel a lot. I think it has the best points to $ value out of the cards I looked at for flights and food anyways.

  2. This didn’t make me cry I promise. Nah seriously I have two young girls and this just chokes me up. ❤️❤️❤️

  3. I imagine Sevro became a big softie after having his girls

  4. I would try to do everything I can to learn about the San Ti (I like the name Trisolarins better from the book) to the point of joining the ETO as a double agent to get into contact with them through the game. The ETO would be hard to impossible to deceive but the San Ti wouldn’t be.

  5. Probly I would push for space colonization. The sophons would waste a lot of time to jump between the Asteorid Ring or even Jupiter and Earth. Cant stop it all.

  6. In the books, “escapism” is outlawed as it represents a more moral attitude

  7. The books are different than the show but honestly you could probably just start book 2 if you want. There is really only one reoccurring character from the first book.

  8. I second this. I binged the show, then skimmed book 3, then read book 2. I obviously don't mind spoilers.

  9. The smoking detective is the one I was referring to. Spoiler-alert, the wallfacer is not in the first book.

  10. Everything Al Ewing touches is gold with Immortal Hulk and Immortal Thor

  11. I’d say the same about anything written Donny Cates. He takes the lore to a whole new level.

  12. I enjoyed it. It was definitely off the beaten path but something new (also really enjoyed the art, esp the colouring)

  13. I'm an MD/PhD Student and have been thinking for 5+ years now that I might have ADHD, but am terrified of actually going to anybody about it becuase they'll think I'm just a med student looking for Adderall. Ive never used any stimulants like that. The didactic years were hell (like they are for everyone), and I definitely picked up caffeine and overeating habbits that I did not have before. They always said cramming was not possible in med school, but the night before was the only time I could focus. Plus having mostly prerecorded lectures did not work for me.

  14. In a way you would be a med student looking for Adderall… but for the right reasons! These meds can be very effective and helpful for those who actually need them. In my personal experience, I was diagnosed in med school with ADHD and started on vyvanse. Because of how excited I was I quickly titrated up to a higher dose. From experience I can tell you that you just do not feel good on doses higher than you need and I’m quite happy on where I am. There’s still a lot of stigma around ADHD and presumptions about med students and under counter stimulant use but definitely worth exploring if you are considering it. Even if you decide on no stimulant medication, it can be helpful just to know if you have it or not for managing otherwise.

  15. I really appreciate your comment. It is mostly validation I am seeking. Am I just undisciplined and lazy? Was thinking about trying other support mechs or a non stimulant like welbutrin if I did get a diagnosis. It wasn't just the studying workload, but I mostly was wondering why I couldn't operate like everyone else. Comparing myself was very hard on me mentally and emotionally. We would have review classes part way through a block, and I had none of the info down and would see everyone else rattling off answers. But then on test day, I was able to cram enough the night before to do well. I really wanted to not be like that, but could never "fix it". I was also ashamed by the fact that I studied best after 10 pm. Now in research years, I beat myself up for not being able to just sit and read through a paper.

  16. Your experience very much sounds like ADHD. Last minute studying, late nights, procrastination, inability to read through a whole paper even though you really wanted to, an acute sensitivity to your peers… It’s funny how HARD it is to do something as simple as make a Dr’s appointment and then when you finally do it’s like “that only took 5 min, that was easy”. But then you beat yourself up about not doing it sooner! But it’s not you, it’s your brain. My diagnosis came from RSD, and treatment resistant depression. My family doctor suggested it and I thought he was crazy because I rendered the ADHD lectures and “I didn’t have those traits” until I went through each one and realized that I was compensating for each of them. And then I came to find out that my whole family has ADHD which is why I never stood out! Now we’re all medicated one way or another and I think it’s made a big difference. (For research papers, you could try audio, listening to them at the same time that you read them. Small trick but it helps). You can PM me if you have any questions that I may or may not be and to answer!

  17. There are a lot of different ways to be disabled and no advice will be applicable to all of them.

  18. What advice would you give someone who shares your own disabilities then? Or what would up say to your past self?

  19. Throughout med school, I hid my dyslexia (at first, I didn’t know I had it, after being diagnosed, I kept it to myself because I didn’t want people saying shit about me) and reduced hearing (kept it hidden because I had a friend make fun of me so I tried to assume what was being said based on context for parts I missed). I would encourage opening up about any disabilities with a trust admin member. Hiding it doesn’t help you, and opening up might help you access resources you didn’t know about.

  20. Thank you for sharing! I think that’s a good point about opening up as you are right. There are so many resources and ways programs can help especially for test taking. Does not mean that you have to declare it to the whole world, but you don’t have to hide it. There are so many disabilities that are hidden and not blatantly obvious it’s important to keep in mind.

  21. After the Kraken has had a long hard day and just wants to chill and watch TV. Leave the Kraken alone for 5 min yeesh.

  22. Minus the Harry Potter stuff, this is essentially the plot to Hogwarts Legacy. Older student joins Hogwarts but as a fifth year.

  23. I just hyperfocused on this list and realized there wasn't a single mention of the writers of last year's Best Picture Winner ("Everything Everywhere All At Once").

  24. One of my favourites and it really tells within the character. She had “so much potential” and really that’s what of her alternative lives are her living out her potentials had she had a bit more attention. Then again, because of this she was also able to connect with all her alternatives to do some remarkable things.

  25. Sooo frustrating to deal with this crap when you literally can’t deal with this crap. I thought this was going to be a vent but just turned into typical ADHD people pleasing that we all deal with. As a patient you need to advocate for yourself and should not feel bad for doing so.

  26. It’s not cliche at all - My all time favorite character is Daredevil and for the second place in my top 5 goes to Batman himself, both him and Matt are amazing characters and there is reason why many people love them

  27. You’d think a guy that essentially uses echo location would go by the name Batman and a guy who was constantly doing daring stunts and scaring ppl would go by the name Daredevil but here we are!

  28. I'm a relatively recent grad and definitely have some strong opinions about exploitation of residents in certain situations, but out of curiosity, how do you think this works? Staff should just let you operate on their patients, take all the risks involved with that, take all of the blame from the patient and family if something goes wrong, and then also do all of the pre-op care, post-op care, note writing, etc?

  29. I understand what you’re saying but you’re just perpetuating the problem. Strong options about exploitation of residents only in certain situations?? Imagine if nurses were asked to work 24 hr shifts with no post call days ie 36 hr shifts, there would be absolute riots, walk offs, etc. And don’t give me that “it’s different because I’m a surgeon/physician” BS, we’re not part of some special club or tribe, this is a job.

  30. Every time I see a cricket clip I have no idea what’s going on. It’s like that Monty Python skit where they play a sport that makes no sense.

  31. It's honestly such a simple sport...

  32. Yeah I could learn the rules but it’s more fun just to be confused

  33. Neuro resident here - just finished making a presentation on the ocular motility system and its disorders. There’s 6 systems and there are over 80 slides…

  34. At first I thought, “this is a crazy video, who shovels snow like that??” and then it actually got crazy. I’m assuming they don’t see a lot of snow there.

  35. Personally I think he actually did it to spite his Dianne. Rick Prime having a functioning relationship with a woman seems basically impossible. I think she left him and that bruised his ego so badly he decided to spread portal travel so that every Rick in every universe would leave her. Then he found our Rick and discovered a version of himself with a loving relationship with Dianne and no willingness to accept the "gift" of portal travel. This made Rick Prime petty and jealous so he murdered Dianne and Beth out of pure spite. Then that convinced him to build the Omega device to delete Dianne completely.

  36. The ultimate, “if I can’t have her, no one can”
