  1. Hopefully you're not actually using nerfgun plague bolter plague marines. Otherwise it's got the bones of a list. You might struggle to reach combat without transport but in a newbie tournament you may also find your opponent wastes effort trying to kill your blight haulers. I think haulers are disappointing as tank killers but if you're fighting light armour like buggies, t'au battlesuits etc they bully that sort of thing incredibly well. They're a unit which probably wants a points cut or rules change honestly but they're not awful.

  2. Ironically if he fought Angron he'd probably beat him, not with his sword but a novel where they faced off would be a kerb stomping by the T'au. Not because he's better at fighting but because Primarchs are living tropes whose abilities are far more than their flesh and blood, they win and lose based on how they embody the trope and the clash of ideals. Khorne's puppet against his will versus a guy who has fought off Khorne. It'd be like "mindless monster versus slayer of monsters" but worse.

  3. Still would like know what is the point of it? Sisters of silence are literally right there!

  4. They're a great faction but they aren't custodes, they aren't a truly playable army (them having models and rules doesn't mean they actually get a real game unless your opponent works really hard to softball you). They have their own agenda and history (they were pretty much discovered by accident during the heresy) and completely different themes. Custodes are the pinnacle of superhuman biology, hand crafted guardians who exist to simp for the emperor, the pinnacle of "real" warriors fighting without warpcraft. The sisters are there to control psykana, they work on the black ships and support custodes against enemies whom can break the rules of reality. Very different.

  5. I am not taking about the game ( But I would love to see more miniatures for sisters of silence at least 5 more.) what does narratively brings this change to a table that that justifies retconning almost 20 year unchanged lore? What is so narativly inriching about that story so they need to do this instead that story be tweaked to fit sister of silence?

  6. Honestly it adds very little. But it also changes very little. Custodes process never made it clear it could only be boys. Just that it was always boys. What does it actually damage? I don't think it takes anything away either. It's not a big change. There have been bigger ones and some were bad. T'au's oscillating FTL is a good example of a bad change. Necrons retcon was HUGE but also good. But huge. They redefined an entire faction.

  7. With the points in the book? I'd make an index list. You'll be running about 1600 points worth of stuff at codex points, because all the costs are just the ones from the start of 10th.

  8. I'd consider the new combat patrol. It covers a lot of your bases and provides more breachers.

  9. It's a Summoner- the detailing on the chest is distinctive and Thunderbolts generally have hands while the Summoner prime does not because of the podded guns in the arms

  10. Honestly I just saw disdain in the posture and stance, like "stupid quad mech not even worth my time" it's continuing to walk on past it already.

  11. Annoyingly it's a week too late for my next tournament. I am done with kauyon so I guess I'll run Death Guard again.

  12. It's pretty clear you're better alone. I think you've got the idea and that's good, you deserve better.

  13. Ok if the Custodes are individually modified people it doesnt seem far that the Emperor made some women i guess

  14. I think it's important to distinguish that marines are genetically modified but while originally there were "female space marines" after GW properly sat down and wrote the lore for the faction the process kills all girls subjected to it (it just kills a lot of the boys). Of course someone did recently change the process and he's alive and active so GW could change it, but it'd have to be to new marines going forward.

  15. All the WH40k players quit? So my X-Wing crew can meet up at our LGS without getting crammed into the tiniest corner to make way for all the people who need like three tables for all their junk?

  16. Nah, almost none of the people crying "woke" actually go outside, the people who turn up to your LGS will still be there in force must be vaguely capable of social interaction.

  17. If they could have added that they could have changed the rules. So no, that makes no sense at all.

  18. Nah, ours still have the ability to tear meat but they're feeble. We have evolved teeth for eating them after we killed them, using superior weapons. Weapons which require less nutritional effort to grow and can be replaced more easily because we just make them.

  19. Burst over flamers? Surely we get more output from flamers since auto hitting. S5 Flamers still putting the hurt on the targets you want to be shooting them into.

  20. If you're shooting a T6 target it's a breakpoint and then some. However flamers have the bonuses of not needing to be guided (they can guide) and overwatch. There's definitely some shenanigans you can do by dropping them next to two suitable targets and burning one out in your turn and one in your opponent's.

  21. How everyone seems to have forgotten about the Vindicare x Eldar ship and the Farseer Macha x Gabriel Angelos ship... those came WAY before any primarch x Eldar ships.

  22. My first exposure to can love bloom was the eversor ending. Without the context it still made perfect sense.

  23. Gotcha, I wasn't sure, because Shadowsun has T'au vs Death Guard, and I don't actually know who Typhus is and made some assumptions based on the name xD.

  24. Typhus was Mortarion's first captain. He's the Kharn or Ahriman of the legion now. Like Ahriman he and his father don't see eye to eye. Like Kharn he's a zealot of his chosen god. While Mortarion brooded and sulked (and built a legion up to be fair) Typhus actually spent 10000 years harassing the imperium and unleashing zombie plagues, he's Nurgle's number 1 mortal herald and many Death Guard are loyal to him first seeing him as the one who gets stuff done.

  25. Ultramarines obviously, as her favourite number is 13, and they are the 13th legion.

  26. Ultramarines are her spirit animal. But pre Guilliman's return and introspective era. Just main character energy, inoffensive but not exciting. Reasonable but not world changing. Completely unavoidable no matter what you do or are into.

  27. Very true, but the way I see it, pricing is only part of the problem. The fundamental issue is the sheer time it takes to get a battle-ready army on the table. Between the overdesigned (although absolutely beautiful) pieces and their low points cost, glueing, priming, and painting even a 500p army can easily take 3-4 months - unless you're willing to ruin your models by just making random brush strokes until you can technically get your +10 VP.

  28. Necrons were awful for a lot of 9th. They were a durable army in a game where durable didn't work. They were B tier on release before the codex creep started.

  29. For some time yes. But the obsec + pre game move build kept them above average most of 9th. And certainly above admech. With the clear exception of right after the admech codex release of course.

  30. I don't remember it that way. The obsec and pregame was good for the last year of 9th, they were below average almost immediately after the codex until then. For a very long time the faction was a problem because they were sub 45% and had a codex, how do you fix that? The answer about 15% points drops and give everything CORE and then make their faction secondaries good all at once. For the final year they were really good until people solved them and then they were very average.

  31. ironically it would probably be the black legion, who tend to focus more on cultivating good relations between subordinates compared to other major traitor legions. good of course by the standards of chaos i mean, so your still at constant risk of fragging for promotions and encouraged to embrace a violent hyper competitive lifestyle, but atleast your boss is more likely to be nice to you and look out for your safety cause hes treating this whole shebang like they're an actual army or something. especially if ya do well.

  32. Death Guard: Don't confuse your patron deity with your dad. Death Guard themselves are basically pretty ordinary, once you get past the fact that they perceive reality entirely differently because Nurgle has made them insane. Nurgle will gaslight and shit. Death Guard are just victims alongside you. But they don't know it.

  33. he just needs to stop and if he won't he's bad for you. And if he's bad for you... well that's not what a partner should be.

  34. Don't worry. OP is a virgin too. Someone who actually had sex would know how little it actually changes.

  35. You don't have 10 Agility, the Gifted trait and Unarmed tagged? Well enjoy being destroyed by literally every enemy you come across for the next couple hours...

  36. I remember it being pretty easy to get into the Enclave base and steal some power armour. Once you were in everyone thought you were supposed to be there. Then walk out. That made stuff a lot easier to handle.

  37. >GW redoes the rules to make 10e more user friendly since 9e had a reputation of being complicated

  38. Yes, the reality is that they did kill creep. The current power levels aren't an intentional drift they're just the result of a rules team who was forced to release the rules 3 months too early (they'd never get as much data testing it as 3 months play time but they could have at least put the indices next to each other and compared them, played a few more test games etc) and codices which they shouldn't have started until they understood the game well enough to balance it.

  39. Okay so I'm going to preface this with I'm not trying to be insulting, but honest your reasoning here is the difference between being in your 20s vs in your 40s. Yes often as we are younger we want to go "scotched Earth". Leave, never speak again, don't even bother talking to her, she's a fucking liar, she's a cheater, etc. However as you get older you begin to realize everyone makes mistakes at all ages. Yes some mistakes need to be addressed head on, if you're a person that cheating = instant breakup that is perfectly valid at any age (I am that person as well). However this doesn't mean that the person I have been with for years (In OPs case 3.5 years) is suddenly someone who is always deceitful and doesn't know how to tell the truth and will lie about everything and not produce a productive conversation. No one knows that until the conversation is had. Again just because someone fucks up, no matter how bad, it doesn't mean everything about them is now bad or evil, or that they cannot be honest or forthcoming.

  40. I found kauyon immensely frustrating. If things go a bit wrong early on it's not just the lack of rule but the general lack of tools to dig your way out. I get that it's strong and the new version has a LOT of big brain cool toys too (the unique identity rather than being generic is lovely).

  41. Im sorry you feel that way buddy. Sounds like you've had a rough go.

  42. If your opponent hides until after your third turn you should have a huge advantage though. The reality is they cannot hide. It's one of the first lessons I learned coming back to the hobby. Then when your detachment turns rule off you still have full rerolls on units that kill stuff, full rerolls to wound when you fall out a vehicle and 6" auto advance. T'au are fast I actually have no idea how they'd be able to hide from you for 3 turns without conceding the whole board. If they feed you a few units to stop you getting ahead then they're just playing the reverse of kauyon really, which is dangerous because they have 2 turns to get back in the lead and might not be able to kill you because they don't get a late game power spike and their scoring is capped.
