Honestly you could very well have both. Think of it this way you could have gotten: RSS —> Pain —> reflexive pelvic floor tightening —> CPPS. This would mean RSS came before the CPPS though.
I’ve been dealing with varying severity of what’s been now diagnosed as RSS or scrotal dysesthesia. It started ~3 to 4 years ago. Mainly feeling of chaffing and irritation on my perineum that evolved to involve my scrotum that has a crawling burning sensation.
CureCPPS has some good ideas for stretches, but you should really see a PT. Also, you need to incorporate stretches into your life as a matter of your routine. When doing the stretches in the video, be advised that he's quite flexible, and your goal is not to go as deep as he does, but instead to do a little bit every day.
It's so unlikely to be an infection. What positive tests do you have showing an infection? If there aren't any, the urology guidelines state to treat this as CPPS. Try all the things in the pinned Prostatitis 101 post.
No positive tests yet. I did have a swollen lymph node and low grade fever. That’s why I think I may have had an infection event (uti/hsv) that ended up triggering cpps. I was stressed out of my mind in those two weeks.

Yea for me it’s the same. A lot less burning/pain at the tip.

I had STD like symptoms before, was prescribed with cipro (5 days) , azithromycin (1 day) and doxy (2 weeks).
