  1. The guy I just saw walking down Hanwell with a full sized dog skeleton hanging off his neck with a cardboard sign.

  2. I'd recommend The Pigman (1968). Short read. The reviewer "Werner" sums it up well.

  3. You can make it do whatever you want. I use GTD and Notion is the best tool I’ve ever used for capturing notes and actions. I use buttons, Siri integration, Alfred integration and browser extensions to capture anything with like no friction. I so wish my company adopted Notion.

  4. I'm new to Notion and enjoy it but wonder how to move along this learning curve. Is your use of tools developed through experience? Or would you recommend specific channels to view or blogs to read?

  5. I’d remove all of the black rotted parts and let it air dry. In a week put it back in dry soil and water a week after that. In other words don’t water it for 2 weeks. These plants can stay alive for a long time without water.

  6. Btw, do you mean to cut off the black parts?? I had cleaned the black gunk off but just occurred to me you may have meant otherwise.

  7. Yeah, and then the "98% of meetings are useless" crowd also usually fall into the "don't read their email" bucket, and so they never do the prep to make the meetings more efficient. It's a self fulfilling prophecy.

  8. So, this doesn't have anything to do with BuJo really, but in the software development world we use backlogs to manage long lists of features and other requirements. Each backlog item typically has a title, description, and some quantifiable success/acceptance criteria that helps us determine explicitly when we are done with something. Most tools will also have some sort of value field, which is a much more useful way to set priorities. Of course, in business we can always apply some monetary value to each change requested (this feature will bring in $x of revenue or save $y over the next six months, etc.), but you could easily adopt a different measure, like utility or happiness or time savings. Microsoft Azure DevOps is still very popular and I was using it for home projects for a while. I'm pretty sure it's still free for personal use too. They have workflows too, so you can move only the things that are currently 'In Progress' into that state.

  9. I came across this through a web search. I love how you worded this explanation to help OP and others.

  10. Just callousing / corking over. A natural occurrence on older cacti. Think of it as bark on a tree. :)

  11. Kind of you to reply. Thank you for sharing your wisdom on this!

  12. I had some thing similar where I had to create dynamic sheets for the team and many vendors to handle finances. Took a while but I learned to use code to automate the sheets. Knowledge like that once you learn it is more valuable than gold. I don't regret it because you can take a base product and tailor it to exactly what is needed.

  13. "Dynamic sheets" and "use code" woke me up here. I'm really interested in what you've mastered.

  14. Hey did you ever find a solution for this? I have the exact same problem with my 4 piece toaster currently. Same mechanism in the photos and same symptoms. Lever won't stay down but the coils will still heat up if you hold the lever down manually. When I opened it up and tested it, same thing. The broken side of my toaster has that secondary clip (from figure 3) that wouldn't keep the sliding clip mechanism (from figure 1) from going back up.

  15. Hey, glad you also attempted the DIY route. Unfortunately, no, I could not get this fixed. I recycled the unit and bought a lovely red Frigidaire to make up for my hassles.

  16. If anyone has any questions about the magazine business, ask me anything. That was my entire career until 2011. (Factoid: Those annoying subscription cards that fall out of the magazine and need to be thrown away? Those are called "blow ins.")

  17. I still subscribe to Esquire. It's an effort to cancel so I just pay. I'll never be able to afford the products they promote but there are always at least two good or fun articles in each issue.

  18. The third photo looks like a dog, looking right, with a burning ear!

  19. All the seeds I planted in the garden last week... Who could have seen this continued winter coming?!

  20. These look fantastic. I'm looking for something to do in Portland on Wednesday. I'll see if I can view these.

  21. I did, was paying close to $150 for 1gb with Bell and am now paying $85 taxes in for 1.5gb with rogers. Seems ok so far.

  22. Much cheaper. Nice to hear the speed and quality are equivalent.

  23. Wow! What's that like, calling Bell and asking them to take you back? 😁
