Either one will work. Try adding AHA toner once a week. BHA and AHA work on different parts of the skin. Also make sure your skin is well hydrated. When it gets too dry it will make more oil to compensate. What do you use for moisturizers?

I wouldn’t be surprised if your skin is over producing oil to compensate for dryness. I have acne prone skin and it was really bad when I didn’t hydrate enough.
