  1. This is my plan. I got some more context (in the 2nd update) and what he really wanted was the cake “he usually makes himself” but did not offer any specifics.

  2. I’d definitely put him on the “no future orders” list!!

  3. Thanks for the kindness, I love my wife to death and we're just going to get stronger thru this.

  4. You know what would be awesome? If you wrote a journal entry about how it felt to you when you both first got together and showed it to her. That way you both know you’re in this for the long haul, and why.

  5. I think maybe Nelson DeMille books? Sort of like Tom Clancy but with (IMO) a broader range of options as there are non-series books that don’t revolve around the same group of people, and more in-depth characterization of people who aren’t The Main Guy.

  6. This makes me even more disgusted by the people I know who voted for him because Nan “didn’t dress like a governor.” Not even kidding.

  7. Never will I ever believe that he didn’t know.

  8. There's a simpler alternative explanation, which is that they simply figured out that they could use it without having to buy it. There's no legal scheme required to make their actions rational.

  9. And that, if the former owner drove by the property, cmight have been enough to have them selling to OP instead of the freeloading neighbor.

  10. If the neighbors had wanted it that bad it seems like they could have remained on good terms with the seller in case they changed their mind. They clearly didn’t want it that badly.

  11. Both Thomas Boleyn and Thomas Howard were essentially pimps--they pimped out Mary  and Anne Boleyn and poor little Kitty Howard for their own benefit, especially in Mary's case. Mary got no reward, no titles out of being pimped out to Henry. At least Anne and poor Kitty got furs and titles before losing their heads. Mary did get the last laugh though-sge got the Boleyn lands and titles in the end and her Catherine and Henry did quite well in their cousin/sister's court!

  12. I mean, in an age where marriage was about power and property most parents were pimps, to our eyes.

  13. Only one laundromat? Where do you live?

  14. In the metro area I live in, I can think of 2 in the entire far-west side suburbs, and maybe 3 in the near west suburbs. It’s like a 6-mile drive to the only 24/7 one. ☹️

  15. West side of Cleveland. There aren’t as many apartments per capital as there are in other cities and the higher-end ones have laundry, or even laundry in unit.

  16. NTA, but you would be if you didn’t start setting some boundaries for your incredibly entitled and apparently deceitful daughter.

  17. You’re “excited to help her”, except for the color of the dress you wear. Which is her choice. She’s the bride. YTA.

  18. And people who think strawberry milk is vegan because it comes from strawberries. 😂

  19. According to her Insta page, she was stuck by lightning a few years back. I’m sure that has to cross up some wiring…so maybe she deserves a break on this.

  20. I’m from the west coast so that’s probably why I’m so shocked. I don’t know if I’ve ever been to a gas station that wasn’t open 24/7 unless it was in a town I wouldn’t be in after the sun goes down anyway.

  21. A lot more of ours were open 24/7 or at least till midnight before Covid.

  22. Where does it say she even so much as missed the guy, let alone that he broke her heart? Did I miss that somewhere?

  23. A grown ass man with millions upon millions of dollars. He can just buy a new one.

  24. He was interviewed about it and seemed to find the whole thing hilarious.

  25. NTA. She’s delusional and you need to protect yourself and your family’s financial future. Do not clear the debt, because it won’t be the last one she racks up then asks for help clearing. Either your dad has to take the reins of the family finances or he needs to walk and take the younger kids with him.

  26. Also? The mute button, on phones and laptops and headphones and any sort of device, is not at all reliable. Ask a former call center employee whose company recorded calls for performance evals how she knows. 😂

  27. Whatever you do, it you have a disposal don’t use it. Spread the word to your neighbors not to as well. This happened in my building and, lucky me, the ground floor tenant, ended up with six-foot jets of filthy pipe water shooting all over my kitchen. 🤢

  28. My mom packed my lunch in a thermos. I hated it. It was never still hot. The condensation that formed on the lid and spilled everywhere when I opened it was disgusting. And I think my mom didn’t know how to clean the container properly because it smelled. Not the food. The container. My lunch thermos and her travel coffee thermos. Same smell. She couldn’t smell it but I could and it was awful. God I wanted a lunchables so bad. Or just a pbj. Or just crackers. Not that. Anything but that.

  29. Sometimes the seal between the inner layer and the outside layer breaks and water or other liquids can get in there and it’s almost impossible to get out, but it will smell baaaad!!

  30. NTA. Your mom is in desperate need of some deep and extensive therapy. Props to you for making your own way and for living your life, not one that revolves around her grief and inability to appreciate the family she does have. Best of luck going forward!

  31. Sue at Hot Locks in Westlake, not sure of the exact price but it’s around what you want and she’s amazing.

  32. And my previously outdated merch is gonna get some fabric paint. 😂

  33. Yep, YTA. But you probably knew that before you asked, didn’t you?
