  1. If there's any justice he dies in prison.

  2. If there's any justice, whoever made the scam calls and set this whole thing in motion will be sharing a cell with him.

  3. A judge has recommended that the conviction and death sentence of Melissa Lucio, a Texas woman whose execution was delayed in 2022 amid growing doubts she fatally beat her 2-year-old daughter, should be overturned amid findings that evidence in her murder trial was suppressed.

  4. Really hope whoever suppressed the evidence takes her place in jail, because that's an insane abuse of power. This is why I hate that DAs are elected in the US because it shouldn't be a political thing. Elections just incentive DAs to do whatever it takes to ensure they win a big case, whether that's hiding evidence or offering a ridiculously short sentence in a plea deal because it technically counts as a win for them.

  5. Wait, so he picked the missing man up in his cruiser and no one knows where he went with him? Does the cruiser not have GPS in 2024?!

  6. Really wish these damn gang members were better shots simce they only ever seem to hit innocent bystanders. How tf do you shoot a 1-year-old multiple times? They're a fairly small target compared to the full grown adults I assume were being targeted.

  7. The article here said it was a "family gathering" so where did you see that it was a kid's birthday party? Just because kids were killed and injured doesn't mean it was specifically a kid's party.

  8. And this is why so many Americans don't trust Muslims being in our country, because they're in America chanting to kill Americans. Next headline will probably be a mass shooting in Dearborn by a white guy who wants to take out the "terrorists" before they kill innocent Americans. Such a stupid cycle.

  9. Exactly my thought too. As a woman, I don't even want to visit any Islamuc countries because it's way too dangerous imo.

  10. In the US, I think Israel is supported because they're our only ally in the middle east. Plus, with Israel having control of the holy land, Christians are able to safely visit it, which I don't think would happen if Muslims had control of the holy sites. They'd raze anything that was Christian or Jewish, destroying important sites for those faiths.

  11. Yes because of the likelihood of people who mess with kids re-offending. Releasing them just creates more child victims who deserve to be spared the abuse and trauma way more than a child rapist deserves to keep breathing.

  12. Yep, but CYS will probably end up giving her back her kids after she serves her eventual sentence because our system is so fucked up. I had a friend in high school who was removed from her mother's care but a few years later her mom was given foster kids. Like, wtf CYS?! She was such an unfit parent you took her kids away but now suddenly she can be responsible for other vulnerable kids taken into care. How is that even allowed?

  13. Not vaccinating without any valid reason should automatically trigger a visit from CPS.

  14. Agree, but sadly it's not just kids anymore. The anti-vax bullshit started long enough ago that I had a student teacher who was completely unvaccinated and claimed an exemption just as her parents had. She was still allowed to student teach even though every other staff member and student teacher is required to show proof of the required vaccinations.

  15. Depends on what thpe of pain you nean. Physical pain: yes Emotional pain: not even for a billion bucks because I can't live through that again and not want to off myself.

  16. From another i24 article covering this, his first comments were apparently:

  17. And that mindset is why this portion of the world has been so fucked up for so long. Who tf thanks God for the death of their kids and grandkids? Pretty sure it's only terrorists and parents who've murdered their own kids.

  18. Is anyone surprised? It's been 6 months and it's Hamas. The previous hostages released included injuries and marks from torture.

  19. A sky-writer to write my fuck you resignation to my boss over my workplace. Escaping a hostile work environment in style is priceless.

  20. I love all these claims of his "rehabilitation " in prison. Dude orphaned a 4-year-old by murdering her parents in cold blood and then sexually assaulted her mother's dead bod. There's no rehabilitating someone who does that. He may be able to fake it well because that's part of being a psychopath but none of it is real. Good riddance, imo, though I had a relative murdered in cold blood as a kid so I'm of course a bit biased.

  21. There's also his lawsuit to get "adult" video games in prison because he wasn't given shooting games to play.

  22. More proof that Hamas doesn't give a shit about Palestinian civilians. They say they won't agree to a truce because Israel won't end the war Hamas started with a massive terrorist attack. Also, didn't they previously claim to have killed all the hostages awhile ago? So what hostages are they going to turn over to Israel if they ever do agree to a truce? It's been 6 months since the attack and hostage-taking, and we know from released hostages that they endured torture. Does anyone really think they kept any hostages alive this long?

  23. Yep. I love his music but he needs to grow the fuck up and probably stop drinking. You'd think he'd have learned a more lasting lesson from when he got blacklisted from streaming, radio, and awards shows when the video of him drunkenly saying the n-word went viral a few years ago, but he just keeps making bad decisions, especially when drinking (gonna assume he was plastered because it was a bar and who pulls that kind of shit sober?)

  24. No because I think continuing in life is scarier than dying. I have a chronic pain condition so to me, death will finally be the end of pain. I also believe in God so dying would reunite me with my best friend, my Dad. There's nothing to fear about that.

  25. Being completely unaware of major historical events, etc. that have become part of the cultural lexicon. I had a friend in college who asked why the hot wings at the Italian-style resteraunt were called Vesuvius because what kind of a made up word is that? I just shook my head in disbelief and wondered how they made it to a university without ever learning or hearing about the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. I know it's n

  26. the fuck is wrong with parents and trusting celebrities are you fucking kidding me?

  27. Yep. I've been watching the Quiet On Set documentary series and holy fuck is it bad. Although it seems like the parents who speak up and make sure they protect and keep a close eye on their kids get forced out or have their kids dropped from the industry because the Hollywood machine doesn't want attentive parents. They want parents they can control and take advantage of so they can keep using and abusing these poor kids.

  28. Could hurt a lot of people once the shivs come out. They were being locked down for safety and security reasons, not just to be mean to the "poor prisoners." Sadly, I guess it'll take someone dying before they'll put safety and security above bullshit claims of 'but they're violating prisoners' rights."

  29. I'll be in my window-less sub-terrain cubicle eating a sad desk sandwich...

  30. Me too. Guess we should have committed a crime so we could have the freedom to see the eclipse, which is just a sad commentary on our world.

  31. RikTok. From what I've heard is on there, I have absolutely no desire to ever participate in even watching TikToks, let alone participating in them. I don't trust the app at all because it's basically owned by the CCP, and the content I've heard of or seen elsewhere always seems to be either stupid, annoying, or majorly cringey. I'll stick to higher brow platforms like Youtube.

  32. Finally, a feel good news story on Reddit. So glad the pup was reunited with her family, though now I have to go watch "Homeward Bound" and bawl my eyes out at the end like I do every time I watch it even though it's a happy ending. The boy's line that "He was just too old" gets me every damn time.

  33. For anyone who doesn't read the article or watch the video, the police "tactics" employed in this case included pulling a man who was suffering a diabetic medical emergency from his own car, beating him and tasing him. It's a good thing that cameras are (almost) everywhere, otherwise we would never know about things like this.

  34. I'd love to see the bodycams if they were wearing any because the escalation makes no sense from the security video and the call from employees. It should have been a simple knock on the window, ask what he's doing here and if he's OK, and then police walking away or calling an ambulance if he's too disoriented or says he's having a diabetic emergency. I get that polixe aren't medical professionals but I've had family members who are Type 1 diabetics and it's extremely obvious they aren't ok when their blood sugar is too high or too low. I guess maybe the police could have thought he was on something if he was mumbling or not making much sense, but even if he had been drunk or high out of his mind their response was extremely excessive and uncalled for. Tge only way that kind of response would be appropriate was if he'd pulled a weapon, and there's no mention of him being found with a weapon or anything they could have potentially mistaken for a weapon.
