  1. Autowinning battles because the AI is to dumb to handle its units is not my idea of "fun". I like to actually play my games.

  2. It's basically Patreon, but integrated into YouTube. All sorts of platforms are doing this now. Why have your content creaters go to another platform for subscriptions when you can keep them and pocket that cut of the money yourself?

  3. I remember you tube before the algorithms ruined everything. When you searched a topic, you got all relevant content from both sides of the argument. The videos it suggested were both relevant and interesting. By clicking on the suggested videos, you'd sometimes get on entirely new and fascinating subjects, not always sure how you got there. Now the algorithm keeps pushing you back to your feed and preconceived biases. I think that social media algorithms are a major factor for the inceasing division in society today

  4. TikTok is the worst for this as it's algorithm is much better at giving you exactly what you asked for than even YouTube's.

  5. I mean, the difficulty settings literally explain what they were designed for when you select them. Can't really be blaming the devs if you ignore that ...

  6. It would be less so without tiresome people making excuses for the rich and famous for no apparent reason.

  7. I think the difference is that him dodging his taxes isn't really affecting anyone or harming anyone directly. Whereas Riley's hate and misinformation is harming people.

  8. Imagine all the good that could be done if all the rich paid their taxes properly. Still making excuses.

  9. Elspeth is definitely going to start in Nuln, right? Does anyone think this could mean they're moving Gelt's immortal empire's starting position? They would be right next to each other otherwise without a lot of room to move. Also, I'm hoping the empire campaign rework means Gelt's gets something else than the elector count system. That would fit with him moving as well.

  10. We live in, or used to live in, a free country. Political, religious and everything else, opinion is open to discussion. It is essential to free speech, whether you like it or not.

  11. Advocating for laws that forbid completely harmless ways of living just because they don't correlate with your religion is not freedom, it is tyranny. Religious tyranny. It's literally as bad as sharia law.

  12. Motherboard question: Asus Tuf Gaming B650-PLUS vs Asus Tuf Gaming X670E-Plus

  13. X670/E is only relevant if you need the extra PCIE lanes and I/O. A decent B650 will be more than enough for the average user.

  14. A civilian loses their civilian status once they take up arms.

  15. Palestine didn't start this war. Hamas didn't even start this war. This war has been going for decades. Either way, it still doesn't justify genocide

  20. Oh, this is better than I thought. It is "knob". It is always spelt "knob". It is literally the same word. Your usage is the slang meaning of "knob". "Nob" does not exist as a word.

  21. It is just the new name for the old follow function. Other than them being counted as a Patreon now it didn't do anything different. Just like the old followers they didn't see anything you put behind a paid tier.

  22. If you give them money when they ask it improves relations with them which will eventually raise all starving bandits to allies and make them friendly NPCs.

  23. Are you sure the giving money isn't a mod either? I've never had a dialogue interaction with them. They always just attack.

  24. Considering the tips section of the wiki page says:

  25. Interesting. Thank you for taking the time to explain!

  26. They aren’t supposed to, but hey some Amish put under lights on the horse drawn buggy so it’s not like they don’t play fast and loose with those rules.

  27. Every religious person plays fast and loose with their rules, as all of them are based on interpretation of a text that was written in and for a time and place that doesn't exist anymore or are just completely made up. So it's all arbitrary.

  28. The irony of simultaneously being worried about encountering racism from the rightwing and being afraid of being perceived as a left woke. Lmao.

  29. Witch King by Martha Wells. A demon prince wakes up imprisonned with no body and no idea how he got there, except the knowledge that it had to be done by someone he trusted.

  30. Do not, under any circumstances, flick your middle finger against the author's palm when you shake it. It's creepy as fuck.

  31. As unhinged as these all are, the finger thing is the one that's really throwing me.

  32. From reader descriptions I've read, it doesn't sound like Sword and Sorcery to me.

  33. Well, then those readers and I have a verry different interpretation of what S&S means, and theirs is wrong.

  34. QM is even more of a hellscape. I finally uninstalled after 6 yrs after actual having run into tower feeders for 3 games in a row. I don't even play with chat on like what can even piss them off that much - not worth my sanity. HotS used to be great.

  35. It's nothing in game. These type of guys just have mental health problems. Nobody who is happy and healthy spends their time pissing off other people in online spaces.

  36. I’ve heard great things about Bujold and Wells, and Leckie is new to me. Thank you for the recommendation!

  37. Leckie is a master of perspective. The Raven Tower is a great example of that. If you're ever interested in space opera, her book Ancillary Justice is an absolute masterclass in using perspective in fiction.

  38. I mean, everyone's gonna dislike you, but at the same time, most people dislike the Holy nation as they're bigoted slavers.

  39. Just to go with something that hasn't been mentioned yet:

  40. It should be natriumbicarbonaat, which is baking soda. Natriumcarbonaat is regular soda and is a cleaning agent (and used in many chemical production processes). They're chemically related, but one is much stronger than the other, so best not to mix them up.
