  1. She didn’t know she was going to DIE. JFC, if she could predict the future, she would’ve left. Have some respect for a woman who empowered other women.

  2. One can have respect for what she did while also criticizing her for not stepping down. She empowered women, yes, but refusing to step down when in her 80’s to allow a president to appoint someone who would be able to continue to protect and support the legacy she create ended up destroying that legacy. That refusal ended with appointments that have stolen rights away from women and have set this country back generations. That, coupled with McConnell’s fuckery to manipulate the Supreme Court by arbitrarily not allowing Obama to seat a judge after Scalia’s death, has cemented a corrupt judiciary.

  3. I had something similar occur with a friend of mine. He was marrying a woman of Mexican heritage and was adamant about wearing his kilt at their wedding. What she did absolutely shocked him to his core and was unbelievable… she designed a tartan that combined his family colors with colors of her heritage and surprised him at the wedding with the sentiment of combining their families now. So, yeah, NTA, and you should probably find someone who supports you and the things that are important to you rather than just having you as a prop in her mother’s vision for a wedding.

  4. The pill was obviously working. Had he known she stopped he would have stopped. Get it now? The sex was not done with consent and this is what you call rape.

  5. Even if she had been on the pill, there was still absolutely a chance of pregnancy occurring. What she did is abhorrent, lying to her husband about taking birth control, but he is also at fault in this situation by not taking any precautions into his own control by not wearing a condom or getting a vasectomy as he was so absolutely against a third child. Before he found out, he was under the belief that she was on birth control and still got pregnant, because that shit does happen, a lot. The wife is an AH and he should divorce her for breaking that trust, but he is also an AH for not taking any accountability for his own actions or lack there of and especially an AH for threatening to harm all three of his children in retaliation for what his wife has done.

  6. Most of the most recent wealth transfer happened during the pandemic, with a lot of the inflation and stock run up occuring because of events in 2020. I don't think it really matters who was in charge, the same things would have happened, but successfully managing monetary policy to ride out of that storm and hitting another stock peak is good for everyone. Despite the high profile layoffs in (overvalued) tech, unemployment is a pretty great 3.7% right now. When times are actually bad people worry about working at all, not having enough for the ira. We're a long way from Bernie of course but where's the political capital for that? Bernie didn't come close to the presidential nod and most races are now against feral trumpers trying to dismantle the deep state by building a deep state. It doesn't really feel like we're about to pull together and figure out UBI.

  7. Very much a lot of the current state of things took off during the pandemic and then when we add on top that that any of the proposed bills which would curtail inflation and corporate greed have all been blocked by ::checks notes:: the GOP. All simply because they don’t want to help the American people because it might make the current democrats look good. With that sort of mentality, coupled with wanting to destroy the government and any form of regulations, all while promoting truly fascist ideologies and propaganda, the US is generations away from any sort of actual positive reform which will help the people and a century or two from something as basic as universal health care.

  8. Nothing stated suggested anything about fighting neighbors or hatred for republicans, but rather highlighted the reality that current GOP party members are actively working to dismantle the frame works of the United States government, are parroting talking points of former fascist regimes, all while offering no viable solutions which aid the US populous and are rather in fact voting against and hindering all potential solutions.

  9. Just a note for those who may have forgotten, Eli Lilly didn’t lower costs out of the kindness of their hearts or because the president asked them to; a fake verified twitter account posing as Eli Lilly posted that the company would be releasing insulin for free and it tanked the companies stock basically forcing their hand into making the compromise of coming down to the $35 cap as it would have turned into an even worse PR nightmare if they continued to exploit the cost of insulin.

  10. Don't forget the tens of millions of people who either paid off their loans like a responsible adult or never went to college, they'll get brutally ass-raped to pay for a lazy little shit who doesn't want to pay their bills.

  11. Exactly! And why the fuck am I paying for Veterans medical bills and college?! Those lazy bastards knew what they signed up for when they joined the military, why is it my responsibility to use MY TAX DOLLARS to pay for their health care and education?! Those little shits got four years minimum of pay, room and board, and to travel. Why does it fall on me to pay for their shit after they’re out of the military?! It’s not MY FAULT that they joined up, so why should I be forced to cover their expenses?!

  12. Dumb, delusional, ditzy, demented, detrimental, dangerous, disingenuous, disgusting, dimwitted, dipstick…

  13. Back in the days before cellphones, as a kid when I was out at the mall or wherever and needed a pickup, I would use a pay phone and make a collect call (10-10-220 anyone?) to contact home. Automated operator would connect the call with the prompt for the receiving end, “Would you like to accept a collect call from, ‘speak your name here’?” The name would always be, MOMCOMEPICKMEUP! Saved 10-25¢ from not having to feed the pay phone and all the receiving end had to do was not accept the call and thus not be charged anything. All to save a quarter.

  14. Jesus Christ I was thinking maximum out of pocket would kick in, but that’s not elective stuff. That’s horseshit.

  15. Fuck this guy and anyone who thinks this way. Education shouldn’t cripple you for life under a mountain of debt. Manchin is a piece of shit. Their greed has screwed over generations by and large. “Oh, but I paid off my loans whaaa whaa whaa.” So did I, and I don’t care. WE GOT SOLD A BAG OF LIES AND WERE EXPLOITED!!! Rack up a bunch of credit card debt? Bankruptcy and forgotten about in a few years. Fraudulent PPP Loan? Forgiven. We fucked around screwing people over on mortgages they couldn’t afford and crashed the economy? Bailed out without a slap on the wrist. It’s about damn time the pendulum swings the other way and helps the citizenry, because with the way things are trending, it seems like it’s going to take a Bastille Day to ever see change.

  16. I have an ex that has a PhD in geology. After our relationship ended they went hardcore born again and now believes that God put dinosaur bones in the earth to trick us.

  17. I have pairs on underwear that have lasted far longer than the confederacy.

  18. Absolutely horrible, tragic, sad, and completely unavoidable if not for corporate greed.

  19. Love that they used people of color to discuss the war on white folks. Trying to make it seem less racist and a valid topic by having black men represent the argument. What pitiful propaganda and it’s terrifyingly sad that so many brains have been rotted away by this hate.

  20. Was at a restaurant last night that had Fox News on one of the TVs, topics that were constantly being covered: Border Crisis along Texas/Mexico border and how it’s Biden’s fault, nothing to do with Greg Abbott; Hunter Biden’s laptop; Don’t trust the government; The FBI is corrupt; Twitter colluded with Biden; Sinema selling clothes on Facebook, and my favorite, UFOs…

  21. Not the cards. The perception that he is a weak-assed grifter and they're his marks.

  22. I’ve said this before, the saddest thing is they are big mad right now, but will get easily duped by the next conman (looking at DeSantis for 2024) and not take a single moment to think or ask themselves, “is this guy conning me just like the last one did?” Zero self reflection, zero awareness, and they’ll just keep on getting bamboozled while being gaslight to think the other side is brainwashed and their views are a mental illness.

  23. Two 90’s sci-fi films come to mind: Gattaca and Dark City.

  24. My right wing baby boomer parents refuse to acknowledge this. They think that all the anti-vaxxers are left wing because "Trump made the vaccine".

  25. After watching swathes of the population ignore the problems of the pandemic; or worse, actively fight against the solutions to the problems, I have lost so much faith and patience with people. Millions died, people are STILL dying from it. Millions more may suffer long term effects from covid. And idiots, yes, IDIOTS, who were so easily manipulated and controlled as political weapons put so much extra strain on our hospitals, supply chains, and fellow people that a large empathetic part of me died. Hearing literal morons saying they went to the feed store to buy horse dewormer or begging for hydroxychloroquine. Fighting against masks because they’re too stupid or too scared to understand basic science. Supporting people who work towards dismantling the institutions built to help people. You’re damn right I am less agreeable, because FUCK THOSE PEOPLE! You idiots pushed the pandemic for far longer than it need to go with your refusal to learn, with your selfishness, with your lack of empathy, with your goddamn ignorance. FUCK. YOU. How can I be considerate of others when they certainly don’t give a shit about doing the BARE FUCKING MINIMUM to be considerate towards me or their neighbors?

  26. Thus ending the debate of who gets the most chicks in the band and reaffirming it’s definitely not the bassist.

  27. Don't forget the food lines a couple of years ago. Republicans love to point out that democrat "socialism" will lead to bread lines, yet fail to remember that actually happened under a republicans president in a republican state with a republican governor.

  28. Don’t forget complaining about inflation while also enacting measures to inspect every truck coming into the state from Mexico to slow down shipments and cause prices to rise and leaving produce to rot. So much so that Mexico said fuck you Texas and moved it’s plans for a billion dollar cross-border trade railway to move through New Mexico instead. FUCK GREG ABBOTT!
