  1. Yes. The rotations aren't as common unless you're part of a Red Horse squadron, those fuckers go on short deployments like every year. You can also volunteer to backfill for other units if they can't fill their slots for their deployment cycle.

  2. Correct, because you can't be grandfathered into something you're not already getting.

  3. I mean, it sure sucks that BAH took a 20% downturn for my location meanwhile cost of living has increased over 20%

  4. RIP, good thing cost of living in my area has gone up about 30% in two and a half years yet BAH rates dropped 20%

  5. Protection only lasts if you’re currently on orders or AGR. If you’re an mday it doesn’t apply.

  6. Considering drill pay doesn't cover 1/10th of your rent in SF it's probably a necessity.

  7. Possibly PERSCO or maintenance or 1st Sgt. I met a bunch of augmentees this season, way more than I thought we had down on the ice. I'm MDG, but my trip was funded by a special grant.

  8. There's one 1st sgt down there. That's not a very good chance loool

  9. Pre rework Taric : Gems, gems are truly outrageous.... They are truly truly truly outrageouuus

  10. Taric. I used to roll Taric top in gold back in the early seasons and he was basically unstoppable because he was a bottom tier champ no one knew how to counter in the lane. Couple that with the near guarantee jungle kill every gank with his non ss stun it was a sleeper OP pick

  11. I just want this game to stop getting new champs ALL THE TIME

  12. This is an unpopular opinion, but I noticed most of the thots on social media who love #sOlOtRaVeL are doing nothing but staying in hostels and palling around with people they meet there. That's not solo travel to me at all.

  13. You say this ironically but we will unironically have Carbon Passports within the next 10-15 years MAXIMUM (though I'm predicting 3-5 years for it), hence why I'm in somewhat of a rush to tick off bucket list places like Iceland, Zakopane area of poland, Shirakawa area of Japan, and Croatia

  14. 3-5 years I don't see. I can see it within 20. All the while private jets will continue to be allowed.

  15. It depends on you, but if you have time and energy, stay a couple of days in Singapore, you really don’t need more than 3-4 days to see and do everything around there.

  16. I hope they don't invent teleportation, I want future generations to suffer in economy class the way I did.

  17. All of the questions you mentioned have been discussed many many times.

  18. Of the last twenty threads, none of those questions have been asked yet 5 of them are itinerary rate threads. I'd much rather chime in and read interesting stories than read how someone can't use Google maps/reviews.

  19. Well so just skip the posts you are not interested in? Why ban itinerary posts, it’s possible to use tags for posts so that you personally can skip all itinerary posts and only read the ones that you find interesting. Personally I’m not interested in reading yet another “wow guys I went on my first backpacking trip and suddenly realized that I’m so happy when I don’t have to work and instead can just chill and party every day, traveling really opened my eyes to the real meaning of life”.

  20. Those threads are not so dissimilar to the rate my itinerary ones though. They're both just validation seeking spam posts.

  21. Winfly came down with something like 4 cases on the plane. From what I gather leadership knows who has it, tells them to quarantine, and closed the bars. Basically they're just saying "let er rip, sorry for all the utter bullshit we put you through the last two years"

  22. Just wanted to give a special shoutout to all the people who said things like "wElL tHiS iS OnLy OnE sIdE oF tHe StOrY" to the post yesterday about being banned for literally just asking for tech support.

  23. Yes, it does. Go read the comment where I linked Hinge's response they sent me via email asking why I was also banned there.

  24. My profile is very PG rated. They link that cause they don't want to find a specific thing or example so it gets them out of doing their job.

  25. ARAM has been really bad lately with it. Or the ones who enter game and then AFK. I wish there was a way to actually report bad behavior that works.

  26. Yeah…it’s absolutely ridiculous. Hopefully something is done about it but who knows. The state of everything is fucked right now in my opinion

  27. Tbh at this point since I live on the west coast I might just buy a shitty RV and park it in a nice neighborhood since nothing is done about it. That way I can just pocket all my BAH so I can eat.

  28. Don't get your hopes up on BAH increases being anything substantial. Last year they cut BAH in my locality by 10%, so I'd expect them to be like "HERE'S 9% TO COUNTER INFLATION, WE ARE THE DOD AND WE CARE!" Only to be -1% from where it was two years ago. Luckily BAH you get grandfathered into so I didn't take the 10% hit last year, in the meantime CoL where I'm at has increased by 20-30%

  29. There's definitely many job prospects for VOT majors, that was my major and I'm gainfully employed on small vessels. That said, I would suggest the two year SVO program instead.

  30. Why would you suggest the two year? There's no regiment, daily shaving, or anything like that for the two and four year VOT correct?

  31. The two year is a fast track to the industry and the four year is slightly more well rounded but is IMO partially offered as a small vessel bachelor's degree.

  32. Feel free to not answer, but what is the average pay and work schedule like working small vessels?

  33. We have a member who says she was deployed to Africa, when I asked her how long it was she said it was 3 weeks and that the AF considered it a deployment. Blows my mind, but then again med group 'deployments' when I was in Kuwait were only like six weeks long.

  34. I mean they took one court for four pickleball courts. It’s better than painting pickleball lines on four hard courts

  35. This. They recently painted lines on four of our public hardcourts and the pickle ball league will set their nets up on them on Sundays blocking four of our eight courts (they already have six actual pickleball courts) that don't get used, effectively just ruining half of our public tennis courts over the weekend.

  36. I usually stayed with family. But most cities have short term rentals, not like airbnb (though some of those too, some people list that way), but ones you can get for like 1-3 months, usually furnished. Generally more expensive than an apartment, but less than a hotel. Great for trying out different areas between hitches.

  37. I know of a website called Landing that is exactly what you're talking about. Usually is frequented by traveling medical professionals, but they don't care what your profession is.

  38. This is why I drink Natty Daddy’s. You get fifteen beers at 8% alcohol for $10 at the Dollar General. After the third they don’t taste that bad.

  39. When you start getting really thrifty you move to high gravity colt 45s

  40. None of the places near me sell 40ounces. I do not know if that is a good sign or not.

  41. Colt 45 high gravs usually come in a 4 pack of 16 oz cans. I remember back in the day you could a 4 pack of them for 3$, drink two and be drunk. It was the cheapest, easiest option we had. I'm sure inflation has brought the cost of them to a staggering 4.50$ right now though (outpacing the rate of inflation and our scheduled pay increase next FY)

  42. If you're single why would you pay rent for a place you aren't living in?

  43. How many months in a row are you going to ask this question?

  44. Imagine spending that much time on Reddit to have to call someone out for cross posting a question.
