  1. But either way.. The canucks were being told to rebuild and questioned trading for Hronek as a 85 point team..

  2. Again, Allvin did a great job.

  3. Either way one turned a bubble playoff team into a contender and the other a 95 point team into a contender...

  4. No. In fact I said in the last sentence of my last response that Tocchet should cruise to that award. You judge the Adams differently than you judge GM of the Year, much like you judge the Norris differently than you judge the Vezina.

  5. Until about level 4, Jax wins. After that, Jax can't engage into you, and you have a wave clear advantage.

  6. "The news doesn't open up the floodgates, however: The federal law — which will be in force as of Aug. 27 — merely allows provinces to regulate sports betting as they see fit."

  7. You cherry picked one sentence, that contradicts the sentence before it and since. Do you always argue in bad faith this way.

  8. The article you posted literally boils down to the federal government legalized this type of gambling because Canadians already do it, and how it's regulated is up to the province. Which part am I wrong to say ads everywhere is a provincial thing when the feds left it to the province to regulate. Nothing I said has been in bad faith when you can't read an article that says gambling is now a provincial thing to regulate

  9. Because that type of gambling was done illegally, off the books, similar to how people consumed marijuana before that was legalized.

  10. Because it feels like the safe choice.

  11. I do like Will Ospreay. But I'm in the 1% of fans. Hence why I'm talking about it on Reddit.

  12. I don't know any of those names except for LeBron, so I guess you're right in that he's analogous to the Rock lol

  13. Welcome to the world of being in the majority of wrestling fans... except its for the NBA!

  14. They’re not even a publicly owned company and yet some seem very concerned how a billionaire is spending his money or if he is making more.

  15. That wouldn't be a problem if a billionaire actually owned AEW as his passion project. That isn't a case. Its the billionaire's son who owns the company. That is meaningfully different.

  16. You wouldn't take it away, just make it so you need to ice a cap compliant team. You want Stone to play? I guess Hertl can't then.

  17. Again "cap compliant" is meaningless over a full season. Cap space accrual exists. How would you account for a team that plays under the cap and accrues extra space that way?

  18. You wouldn't accrue any meaningful cap space in a month. Vegas is $16 million over the cap you can't just accrue that amount of cap space, that's not how it works.

  19. Vegas's 20 man roster last night was less than $1 million over the cap. Sportstnet did a feature on it because they're following the story.

  20. But Brodie isn’t in the lineup and neither is nylander.

  21. Not yet! There are lots of teams in the cap era that have iced a lineup that exceeds the cap by a lot more than Vegas did in game 1. We will likely see many worse examples in these playoffs.

  22. Where did I defend Musk? I was the one saying he got off easily, and the US government went light on him. Way to completely take the opposite of everything I said, you little rascal!

  23. You said he is basically "untouchable" and even suggested the US not go after him because that would set a bad precedent for other companies to do business here.

  24. I did use those words, but that's very much out of context.

  25. Its too fresh to say something like "greatest match ever". For me the broader impact of a match matters when you're talking about the greatest match ever. You need time and perspective to see what the impact of a match is.

  26. We get it your a WWE mark and want to pretend you are making a "sensible" argument here.

  27. I'm not much of an Elon fanboy. So strike one there, Chief!

  28. That's how you set the tone! Give Dakota Joshua the game stick!

  29. Every game we play, opposing goalie had a Vezna night. Espn was giving Heli the trophy 5 minutes into the game

  30. Technically, all the votes had to be cast no later than Friday.

  31. I don't know how the vote went, except the on air guys mentioned it like 6 time

  32. All of the people who've spoken publicly have said they had Hellebuyck on top of their ballot.

  33. Honestly, Toews is the better player. But he's 30, and Hronek is 26, so that factors in.

  34. I don't see a world where Hronek makes less than $7.5M on any term deal. Frankly, he'd be crazy to sign anything that didn't start with an 8.

  35. That's all good and true and what his agent will surely use, but the Canucks can easily turn around and trade him to recoupe all the capital they spent on him, if not more, and they can outright threaten that if his agent is asking for 8+. So he doesn't really have 100% of the leverage, unless he doesn't care about continuing to play with Quinn Hughes. And he should care about that, because if it weren't for Hughes, his numbers would frankly be terrible this year and no one would be talking about 7+, let alone 8.

  36. This next contract is his life changing one. Playing with Quinn Hughes doesn't matter half as much as being able to provide for your family.

  37. No. I have better things to do with my time than stare at someone for 3 hours hoping they fail.

  38. No way the league would allow it. Way too much swearing. The league has sponsors that care about that.

  39. I don't really have the energy to invest in hating other teams.

  40. I appreciate the wall of text, it will take me some time to get through it, especially when you link to a 50 plus page PDF and an article from a right-wing libertarian think tank.

  41. You asked for proof. Be careful what you wish for I guess?

  42. Induced demand has been widely disproved? That’s news to me, please provide evidence besides an example that suggests you don’t understand the concept of induced demand.

  43. Here's a relatively recent study looking at 12 years of data -

  44. I'd say the culture of the team is in transition.

  45. Pantheon is an ultra early game champion. He dominates most matchups levels 1-5.

  46. I don't understand why Winnipeg is so low. There are a lot of old Manitoba Moose employees in that team still from when they were the Canucks farm team. I wish them nothing but the best.

  47. How is this Seth Rollins first main event?

  48. Seth doesn’t count it because it wasn’t an advertised or built up match. He came in for the last 90 seconds

  49. I find it a pretty hard sell that the winner of the main event, wasn't in the main event.

  50. Linden left because Benning refused to shift his mentality. It was clear that the retool on the fly wasn't working and Linden wanted a proper to let a rebuild settle and develop properly. Then Benning went ahead and worked like he didn't care what Linden wanted and Linden left.

  51. Underfunded education, health care, and bad infrastructure. Can someone explain why taxes are so high if the government isn't using them? Sounds to me like we're just paying for over inflated politician salaries?

  52. Health care funding is between 45-50% of everything. Funding on that is growing every year. Education is about 15-20%. Interest on the debt is about 8%, and because of interest rates rapidly rising. Children and Social Services gets about 10%. Everything else gets the crumbs.

  53. It does though from what I’ve witnessed and remember. Of course there were guys like Lidstrom, Bourque and Chelios would played both ends the best. I am just using the definition of the Norris - “the leagues top defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position" - to say it typically isn’t awarded by definition. Top of my head, Karlsson, Leetch, Coffey, Keith, Subban are ones I’d question as per the definition.

  54. Yep, those are great offensive stats that would win them the Coffey trophy easily.

  55. So again, what year would you have had a different winner and who would that winner have been?
