Actually, it refers to the fact that families would just keep procreating because the chances of the baby making it out of infancy was low due to low health care and poverty in Ireland many years back. They needed children to grow and continue the family line. My own grandmother in the far south of Ireland had 10 and only 6 made it out of infancy. It wasn’t uncommon for that to happen either

Vacuum seal bags that I’ve labelled according to size and season so I bring them out when needed. I don’t keep any clothes that they’ve both grown out of because I’m drowning in baby clothes (I used to keep for memories but I let that feeling go very quickly once space became an issue)

11 month gap with them now being 1 and 2 years old this month. We’ve been using 2 basic ikea high chairs since 6 months and would recommend it. I’ve actually found it easier to feed them at the same time because they observe each other eating the food and encourage the other to do the same (or alternatively they put all their food on the others tray to eat cos they don’t want it anymore lol)
For those who are not familiar with Calico Critters, this is hundreds of dollars worth of sets. It includes 12 families and half a dozen buildings plus two vehicles. It's probably 70 to 80% of all the Calico Critter sets that are available, and they are all in great shape.

Mine are 11 months apart. About a month before I was due with my second my partner and I had a conversation about what to do with baby 1 while I was giving birth.
