I would've liked to do at least one but ever since the remote passes changed price nobody in my area really raids as much anymore. I live on a gym and can see an additional 9 others and even sitting there watching the game and even trying to start one up there was just crickets.

So the point system is weird for it. My Ursaluna (level 50, 4*, XXL, 648kgs, 3.7m) is the top one in it with 428 points. The next 2 highest are 139 (Mamoswine) and 101 (Stoutland)
I live in the middle of 3 showcases. One is a lot closer than the other 2 but one of the others I can reach every now and then. I've also had the add to nearby showcase button on other stops on my way to work where it will either add my mon or say I need to be closer, despite being the exact distance away. Showcases seem to be pretty inconsistent.
I'm in the same boat as you. I'm insanely unlucky with legendary raids when it comes to shinies. If I catch a 3* one I consider that a win as well cos I usually get 2* ones.
It's pretty rare in Auckland NZ too. The only time I've heard of it spawning was like 4-6am before the sun rises in winter when it's the coldest it can be whilst also being outside of an event. Heard of maybe 3 spawning at that time.
They need something like a 'catch a shiny' task which can give you a random shiny that's been released: whether it be a normal spawn or legendary. It would either have people out there catching and searching for mons or raiding more to do it quickly. Either way it seems win win to me.
Well the race just has 2 finishing lines. The middle of the pack is the starting line and you either run to largest or run to smallest. You're last if you're in the middle.
Tried entering my XXL one and get the message saying I can't enter it since it won recently, despite it not winning since the last time they gave us Squirtle (probably last com day?). Seems the cooldown is a lot longer than I originally thought (only seen that message this week with the multiple gen 9 showcases)
They seem to be a one day thing and I'm not sure if it was a known thing since showcases are rarely ever close to the next one timewise but there's a cooldown on using ones that win from the previous one (my Feucoco and Quaxly that won recently couldn't be entered today)
If anything they should try make like a double-sided showcase where if you're at the top you win for largest and if you're at the bottom you win for smallest. Showcases aren't as common as they should be for something that has a badge to complete.
One thing they should add is turning XL candy into normal candy. It shouldn't just be a one way thing. Like, I'd rather have more candy for evolving than XL candy that will never get used - like with Scatterbug and trying to evolve all the variants.
Auckland Domain and along the viaduct are pretty good but even just walking around the city (particularly up and down Queen St or around Aotea Square) you'll get tons of spawns.
NZ here. Done all the research without a shiny/hundy, caught a lot of other Hitmons (live on 2 big spawn areas), had incenses going without any shinies - think they've forgotten NZ yet again (: Can't wait to get no compensation again lol.
Could've increased shiny odds, even if just a little. Especially for Pokemon that are regional at that. I was trying for a shiny Seviper since they're not from my region but alas no success. No idea why the other ones were only in 10k eggs and not 3 tier raids as well.

You can get 50 in-game coins a day. We've known about this event for weeks. You could have stockpiled coins in advance. Plan. Ahead.
I have passes, it's the others who don't spend coins/money on the passes anymore so go be passive aggressive to them to buy more.

My level 50 4* XXL Ursaluna is the default one it gives me for entering at 648kgs and 3.7m tall. I haven't entered it yet so can't say the score yet.

They really need to make it so we can complete tasks like that by trading with Mateo (the route guy)
Or just make the trading circle larger or have no boundaries.

I agree, which is weird. You’d think they can do smallest pretty easily. Just do the opposite of what’s currently going on with the biggest
Maybe make current showcases double ended? You're at the top - you win for biggest. You're at the bottom - you win for smallest.

Odds seemed lower. My local crew barely got any. I played the whole time and got 1 and incense seemed to be off as well.
Saturday - got 13 shinies the whole day. Sunday - got 2 Lickitungs between 10am and 4pm then so far got 5 non-boosted rate Pokemon since 4pm.
Catch 5 normal types - Minncino.

It seems very common from my experience. I've caught about 4 just opening my game every now and then without leaving my home.
