Not an easy situation,I am no financial or mortgage expert,I would discuss it with him,all I would say is the financial out look is not great,interest rates are only going one way and most peoples money is only going to get tighter,I remember 2008/9 not a great time for normal working class people living week to week.Am sure legally there are many ways out of the current mortgage the more complex part of the situation is your relationship with dad and family,calm clear headed discussion needed
