Muckery Meter - 11-09-2022 : Another massive short pressure, not surprised at falling price. Short Sale today = Future Long Buy, so I'm still here. Another 1:3 ratio. 15 of the top 20 shorted days have been in the past 40 market days, with very high values in between. The pressure is rising.

Muckery Meeter - 11/08/2022 : 200% Cumulative Muckery score. New high score as we hit a massive 76% short on the day. Only 900,000 LONG sales vs. 2,900,000 SHORT sales. For every 1 long there were 3 short. OF COURSE the price went down!! Duh. Manipulation.

Muckery Meeter - 10-14-2022 : 190% Muckery score. And 75.3% short volume vs. total volume today (4th highest day this year) and 180 days (out of 199) over 50%, which is just mind-breaking. But you know... Short interest is only 20-some-percent. Right?

And THIS is why GS is set up for success, even when "investors" and "analysts" say otherwise. As long as their marketplace gets a slice of that, they will be fine.
Someone did a deep dive DD on this a few months ago which inspired this post. I couldn't find it when I quickly looked earlier, but if anyone can link to it in the comments that would be appreciated as not everyone will have seen it.
I've done quite a bit of digging on that. Check my post history. (at work and can't do that with my phone)

I kept quiet about whether I had one and just nodded. I wanted to see what THEY thought of the whole thing, and they went on and on about what they liked. Gamers rule and don't walk away on a whim.
Holy shit didn’t know short % was a % of sells only. I was thinking it’s total volume buys and sells. Your table was super helpful if this is all correct. Damn.
Every "sell" is a two-fold transaction .. a buyer and a seller. So, ... yes. It is a % of sells. It's ALSO a % of buys. It's both, because a transaction requires both.
Wasn’t it clarified that the short% doesn’t mean a “short” position is being opened, but rather a Market maker is simply purchasing a share to provide liquidity (for a share that has not yet been located)? So…a high or rising short% isn’t a “future buyer”, but a current buyer? So, high short% means people are buying? Or, no eh?
Even if it is a Market Maker, a Short sale is a short sale. NOW... could a short sale COVER another short sale... i.e. borrow from Peter to pay Paul... yes. So, is this supremely accurate down to the decimal to determine Short Interest? HAHAH... no. Not even close.
Generally, you don't publish your whole GAME on the marketplace, but ASSETS, like vests, guns, candy, cards, power-ups, etc. The game is for download or purchase, but the items you use within the game are stored in a wallet or account that YOU control.

I'm looking at total volume vs. short volume, cumulatively. This is NOT SHORT INTEREST, or anything close to it, but does highlight a sense of Muckery and insanity under the currents that we aren't privy to see.
I had to delete the previous post due to a calculation error. I don't want to distribute knowingly-false information, so I cleared it up.
THIS is what is going to shift GME public opinion. Just like Netflix went from being "that place you order your DVDs from" to "that place you go online for movies and shows", this is where GME goes from being "that place you trade in your game consoles" to being "that place you get your online game gear"
What’s the formula to calculate the Muckery for a given day?
The short version: Take every short sale. That's one "Sell" on the market. NOW... in order for that sell to be CLOSED (they can "cover" with unique book techniques, but the position is not truly CLOSED until a buy happens), there needs to be a corresponding transaction that's NOT marked short. If we take EVERY long sale made since 1-1-2020, and EVERY short sale made since 1-1-2020, then this is where we end up.
Thank you mods for giving us the "data" flair.
But ShOrT VoLuMe dOeSn’T mEaN ShOrT iNtErEsT !!!
That's my theory. I can't tell you the exact number, but I can guess if they are lying. (Hint: they are!)
Note that the highest day ever this year was just seven days ago.
Hey hey hey!!!!! So I’m I seeing a higher muckery meter in BBBY than GME?
Slightly, yes... But all of it as a spike, not consistent growth and without the solid fundamentals underlying that GME has. Still wouldn't put a ton of faith in it, but the statistics are interesting.
Fascinating. So popcorn stock is not an actual squeeze play?
HAH! .. No.
For reference: Here's my previous post describing the situation (see my comments below the image)
Gloomy. Today we had 4 milly volume. I don’t think todays numbers are done just yet. Nor are they completely accurate. But other than that, job well done.
They were not done... I will update numbers tomorrow. I had a meeting tonight to get to, so I was in a hurry. Good catch.
How does this consider that a short sale can replace an existing short position? In theory you could have a lot of short volume but only one existing short position since every short sale can cover the existing short position and open a new one?

How about this, is there a chart that can be laid on top of each other so we can visualize these lines going up and down like we monkeys like to do.
This monkey is an old-school linux programmer. I is not dat smert.
What is plaque psoriasis?
An advertisement.. Ignore that. The headline is what I was referring to
Not that every D&D gamer will buy one, but the fan base is HUGE, and many will.... And that's the point.
At absolute bare minimum, if the all of the stars aligned in the shorters' favor, everyone who sold long sent them DIRECTLY to the shorters, and the shorts followed the rules, we would STILL be at 185.1% shorted. That's what this shows. All the other numbers are there for mathematical proof and knowledge. The bottom row is the most telling.
Can you explain muckery, and ultimately what the percent you're publishing means?
Just added a bit to the text... I figured people would ask. :D
