Mobile Support base up to T3, from there I moved to Diagnostic Imaging support with a fortune 200 veterinary company. I then moved to Sys Admin for a local commercial manufacturing outfit. I am entirely self taught but I started fiddling with tech and code when I was probably 12 or 13. It's been a life long hobby but everything I know was pretty much YouTube and forums. Or breaking and learning how to fix my mistakes. I spent years in sales which I will say did so much to develop the soft skills I needed to thrive in the help desk environment and then eventually sell myself to my current CEO and CFO without a degree.
Honestly, I do not understand what they have done to the barb. Its a Melee Weapon Fighter. Why to hell I need Twister and Companion Stuff to kill something. I want to smash and everyone has to die. It isnt complicated :D
I was told to relocate my office a few months ago from a space I helped plan and design for my team years ago and worked well. Zero warning zero discussion. I was put in a old lunchroom with zero connectivity,desks etc, while in the midst of server migrations. I had to call in favors for drops and connectivity but it still derailed my work for a week. As a consolation I was given budget for new furniture and after 3 months of working off of 6 foot tables it was installed.
I've put 150 hours in to le in the last month and it's been great but coming back to d4 made me appreciate how smooth everything feels. The combat feels great and there's just so much qol stuff I enjoy. I'm definitely gonna be spending a lot of time in s4. I caught myself thinking a week ago man I wish diablo had le's crafting system. Then they dropped the campfire. I'm very cautiously optimistic.
More and more gen z I see are stupid as fuck and can’t write. I’m disappointed as I hoped they would be smarter than boomers but really they’re just the other side of the same coin it seems.
I feel like not enough people are talking about how much this sucks. Like this is shit. I don't care how impreessive these generative AI models are. they make clean generic stock slop. Ther is no passion. AI does not and cannot feel passion. There will be no love put into crafting these games. No inspiration based on the experiences and emotions of playing other games. True inspiration is not the same as reproduction. That is all AI can do. Purely calculative. It does not understand why certain conventions work and don't work, it will coldly implement them because they've been implemented before for whatever reason. These games will be fucking boring. Lifelike looking, impressive looking maybe, but with no real value. And this guy is anouncing this as if we're supposed to be excited. Jesus Christ
Games with human passion and ideas will always shine through, let AI make shitty games, there will always be someone or a team of passionate people who will make a beautiful game. Just like AI art won’t replace good, deep, meaningful art that isn’t visible to the eye but rather the soul.
If big studios know they can make a game sell 50% as many copies with 10% of the budget, they will all switch to that. People trying to make actual good games will receive next to 0 funding, and we'll have shitty generic AAA games and a bunch of good indie games (like now, but worse)
Basically we now have 200+ people all applying for 1 tech job in a small town especially if its entry level. If you want a government IT job plan on being 1k+ applicants for it. Not a good time to loose your job bud! Even with years of experience in IT a degree in it and 2 certs I still cannot find a job!
Just remember when you have gotten a really good roll and you use the weapon dont shatter another zweihander by mistake! Happens to everyone sooner or later
