What do you call them? Here in the Netherlands it’s kind of regional, inspired by the brand of container you get from the municipality. We have, Kliko, Sulo and Otto (maybe more I don’t know of) and as kids it was a chore to put the kliko at the pick up place at the beginning of the street (or pick it up after it was emptied). When I got older and I started meeting people living in other parts of the country I found out other kids had to put the sulo or Otto outside.
Mine similar but different. When stuck at traffic I stare at the other cars, people walking and the buildings imagining all the people inside and thinking how everyone has families, histories, phobias, neuroses and traumas.
