  1. Or she’s exercising her humanity when faced with the atrocities being committed on innocent Palestinians. 🤷‍♂️

  2. Never read the books but loved the movie trilogy. However, I remember being underwhelmed by the first one, too. Force her to watch the two towers. That one really hooked and got me invested into the story.

  3. My order of the trilogy is 1-Dark Forest 2- Deaths End 3- Three body problem. I absolutely love the trilogy! Really great ideas are explored. It’s absolutely worth a read from the people here. Fuck Cheng Xin!

  4. I’m on dark forest now. Loved the first one and really enjoying the second installment. However, a friend of mine who listened to the audio installment of the trilogy and mentioned something that I now cannot shake. He pointed out that the first book should have been entitled the four-body problem as the author failed to have their characters take into account the gravity generated by the planet. Now, I can’t help but feel like that was a huge oversight.

  5. Physicists tend to refer to all n-body problems as “the 3 body problem” because it is easier and more elegant sounding than saying “the three or more body problem”, or even less elegantly “the n-body problem where n is greater than 2”. By referring to it as such, I always assumed that Liu Cixin was being true to the field. At least from my experience in math and physics I find it to read more true to reality with the given title.

  6. As I get older, I’m so darn grateful that there are people like you and your wife.

  7. You get used to it. I dont play any games where lag affects gameplay (shooters and fighting games). But for action games (ghosts of Tsushima, metal gear v), RPGs, and strategy games, the portal rules!

  8. Edtpa… the assessment no one asked for but one pushed by the powerful teaching prep industry. How the hell did they sneak this requirement across the country? 🤦‍♂️

  9. Don’t forget to mention how AA screwed his shareholders. How many here are seriously happy about losing a shot ton of their shares???

  10. She’s been through a horribly traumatic experience. Comments suggesting counseling is sound advice. I’m so sorry you have to deal with this.

  11. If the govt doesn’t bring the murderer(s) to justice, then forget about future whistleblowers coming out. It’s really hard to believe in the America that was taught to us in social studies classes - a country for the people and of the people. It’s increasingly becoming clear that it’s a country for corporations and for sale to corporations.

  12. So Microsoft, whose co-founder Bill Gates, is going to partner with GameStop in a way that could blow said co-founder’s fortune (because we all assumed he was invested in funds heavily short GameStop). Yeaaaah…. I’m going to need to smoke some more blunts to even entertain this thesis.

  13. My bad. You’re right. Cinemark: 3.55 billion in debt AMC: 9.14 billion. So I guess more like 5.59 billion more. That’s a lot better.

  14. It boggles my mind that in 2024 we have young students who grew up in a digital age that use only their index fingers to type. Our educational system is failing and it’s not only because of NCLB, charter schools, poor socioeconomic conditions, etc, but the complete rejection of rote learning as an integral component of effective pedagogy. The pedagogical pendulum swing toward “higher order thinking” (a stupid nonsensical buzzword in my opinion) pedagogy is a failure. We have about two decades of schools systems across the country trying to implement such an instructional focus and only abysmal results to show for it. I’m am deeply concerned about the our country’s future.

  15. Put them in groups and they will teach each other how to type.
