  1. 28 years old there and doesn’t look a day over 40.

  2. Filming location of countless tv and movie westerns.

  3. She was 17 years, 11 months, 31 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds old, you suck fuck!

  4. When I was there I was marveling at this. To the right about 10 feet my fiancée was sending snaps to her friends pretending to lick Constantine’s giant foot

  5. Just the relative scale we were all looking for!

  6. Averaging 9 ppg. He certainly has potential but it’s weird how the NBA takes people 10 or 15 years ago they never would have considered. It used to be you really had to have proved yourself in college for the nba to look at you seriously. I hope he comes back for another year like Jalen Wilson did.

  7. Car alarm still going. Hope the battery goes dead.

  8. The last group may finish in twilight. 40 minutes until sunset.

  9. History of Rome is bit more digestible with easy 20 to 30 minute episodes and the narrative moves along smartly. History of Byzantium is more in depth, longer episodes and more diversions from the narrative.

  10. I am more and more convinced I need to get to the British Museum to see the special Roman display even if it is a longgggggggg plane ride from the western US.

  11. Having lived near these parks and visited many times, they’re both great but for kids I’d recommend Mt.Rainier.The wow factor of seeing the mountain up close will impress the children and it has more amenities at the visitor centers for children to see and there are trails good for all age levels, but you really can’t go wrong either way. Rainier is a little easier to get to.from Seattle if you don’t have much time. Warning: it will be crowded there in August.

  12. I feel the same way. I went in early March and the weather was perfect, cool and sunny and no bugs at all but I feel like the park is a bit misclassified. It seems like it would be more appropriate as a national monument or national wildlife refuge. Interesting to visit once, but I can think of many other places I want to see instead.

  13. 90% sure that’s Mt. Rainer from the Tolmie Peak trail. That’s Eunice Lake in the foreground if I’m not mistaken.

  14. Who is the decapitated statue supposed to represent?

  15. I always hesitate to out right put it all on Diocletian as there were trends towards the system before him. He didn’t just come up with it out of thin air. But definitely sealed the deal on the whole thing. And given the economic and social impact that feudalism had on not just the fate of Rome but the entire western world it is a major critique against him. It took the black plague to end it and allow for progress. Feudalism was a huge step back for humanity.

  16. The descriptions of the proto-feudal economic system make me think the empire became a more oppressive totalitarian state during his reign. High marks for his abilities as an emperor and military commander, but I can’t help but think the average Roman, whoever that was, had less freedoms after his reforms.

  17. The trail to the top Lassen Peak is an excellent trail , that while it requires a lot of stamina, isn’t too hard and has a lot of steps. The view at the top is very rewarding.

  18. My own interest in Byzantium came a couple of years ago from first binge listening to Mike Duncan’s History of Rome podcast then picking right after listening to Robin Pierson’s History of Byzantium podcast of which I’ve only recently caught up to the present.

  19. Justinian was certainly was one of the emperors of greatest consequence such as his legal reforms and building projects in Constantinople, but he overextended the empire, trying to do too much too quickly, especially in Italy. Id put him below the excellent category, somewhere in the good to okay range due to his mixed record.

  20. NC State to UNC: why should you have all the fun knocking Duke out of the tournament?

  21. The Supreme Court could have decided this by now

  22. Illini needs to loosen up. Playing too tight missing layups

  23. Vince McMahon should be announcing this WWE match

  24. The last emperor of a civilization that lasted over 2000 years and created so much wondrous beauty, drama and exciting human history came to heroic yet tragic ending. Being “on the right side of history” as the ottomans were, is not necessarily a good thing imo.

  25. Kudos to op for making through book 3 and 4. I stopped shortly into book three, which I could see was serious drop off in quality to books one and two.
