  1. Fiber, magnesium, Zinc, Vitamin D and C plus calcium. Men just seem to eat food either minimal vitamins and minerals like these.

  2. Are you seeing a movement disorder specialist? I see a specialist for my dystonia every few months for botox treatments. She also evaluates my general movement and speech/memory at that time to ensure I am not showing signs of any other disorders that can be associated with dystonia. I HIGHLY recommend seeing a movement disorder specialist if you are able. I struggled unnecessarily for many years because I was seeing a regular neurologist who didn’t really understand my disorder.

  3. I’m not sure if there is a movement disorder specialist in Tucson, Arizona

  4. When I ‘feel it’ in my neck I’ll sometimes end up doing clumsy shit. Sometimes I have nearly fallen down but was able to avoid that. Idk, it’s always a weird feeling to describe but man I’m so fucking tired of it. Been having a dark couple of days and have actually been considering suicide but I can’t cause I also have a brother with autism, diabetes and epilepsy that I need to take care of but I’m fucking struggling to do it. If I could find someone who I trust to look after him and leave them all what I have left, I’d probably opt out afterwards. I’m tired of it, and I’m tired of the strain on other people.

  5. Sorry you are struggling. Stress makes it worse at least for me. And it sounds like you are under a lot of stress. Take care of yourself too.

  6. I have ice packs for my head and neck. I have a bed buddy to heat up in microwave for neck, lavender bath salts and essential oils, an IPod with relaxation meditations. One is a progressive muscle relaxation and the other is a visualization called a Trip to the Beach A lot of stuff. But then I’ve had migraines for 60 years.

  7. For your relaxation meditations did you make them yourself, find them on the internet have a therapist make them or a option I can't think of ?

  8. I use meditations by Emmet Miller. There are thousands of them out there, but I really like his A Trip to the Beach.

  9. Dystonia is a shitty condition. I’ve had it since I was a teenager. And not one doctor diagnosed it correctly until I was 68 years old. I wonder why.

  10. I mean Cervical Dystonia is not rocket science. Can so many doctors be that dense or uninterested.

  11. I have take propanolol for years. I take 60mg timed release. .The first month is hard because I feel tired. That goes away. I did NOT gain weight. It controls my migraines. Totally worth it.

  12. It varies wildly depending on more than area. In my neighborhood a sober living home popped up last year. Now there are addicts who are still using wandering our streets. And homeless with their shopping carts and tents in the washes. No longer the safe place it was a couple years ago. I never walk alone at night now.

  13. I moved to Arizona from Texas to get away from extreme weather. My migraines improved greatly and never reverted back to chronic. Think about moving.

  14. A psychiatrist is a mental health professional who is able to officially diagnose MH issues (like anxiety or depression), prescribe, and monitor medication.

  15. Thank you for such an understandable response. I appreciate this and will follow through

  16. I will keep trying then. I’ve struck out with 4 so far in Arizona

  17. I live in Phoenix & have Medicare advantage. I had Medicaid before that. I've never had a problem finding a psychiatrist close to my house who takes the government plans. You can go to your health plan website and search for providers or call the number on your card and they will help you find one. It's a lot faster than calling each office to see if they take your insurance.

  18. I've been treated for anxiety since I was on it. It's been years. No one can say if it's responsible for the ongoing issues, but the anxiety wasn't an issue pre treatment.

  19. I can relate totally. I once had a good neurologist and it was because he too had migraines. I am in my 70s and have been to more doctors that you can count. My last neurologist prescribed migraine meds that cost $800 per month and that’s with insurance! She would not give me a sample to see if it worked. So I was expected to spend $800 for something that may or may not work. And that was a neuro doctor at Mayo Clinic! So been there done that. I leaned more from watching videos on the Migraine World Summit. Try it.

  20. Healthgrades shows negatives and positives. .

  21. I get 10 injections in my neck every 3 months for cervical dystonia. It hurts but it works. So I do it. It does make me a little queasy after about the 5th injection.

  22. I am 73. I’ve made it so far. The 50s were the worst years. Chronic. Now just once in a while

  23. It depends on what other triggers I have including need to worry about the weather and barametric pressure. If I drink it is 1/2 glass of wine and plenty of water. The fun is over for me.

  24. Doctors don’t like feedback. I expressed concern to my pc that an MRI wasn’t scheduled after a head injury. I was talking about urgent care not her. She told me “If you complain medical professionals won’t want to treat you”. This and I wasn’t even complaining about her?!?!

  25. Tucson is like living in Mexico. No difference with all the garbage along the streets and the threat of theft everywhere. Can’t even leave a chair on the porch or an Amazon box for more that 2 minutes. That’s Tucson

  26. You all can try to send up smoke with comments about Mafia and Islam but the fact remains.

  27. Good. Now they need to get the ones over on the east side

  28. I feel like being alone is better than being with someone who doesn’t try to understand my migraine situation. Eventually we humans all get something whether it be migraine or cancer or and one of thousands of illnesses. No one escapes. When I’m alone I don’t have to worry about what my partner thinks about my migraines. No judgement. I prefer it that way.

  29. I get Botox every 3 to 4 months for cervical dystonia. That’s the norm. It took 50 years of pain to even get a diagnoses. That being said. Your mother needs to find a new doctor. She will just have to wait it out on the pain. Heat packs help.

  30. If you are surprised by the dirt in Tucson, go to New York. The dirt was not only on the bottom but went up the heels as well

  31. It’s almost surely 98% asphalt. Asphalt here gets beaten up by the sun and heat.

  32. That’s what I was thinking. In places where they use cement for roads, like Texas and California, I didn’t notice it as much. In Tucson they use asphalt so they can redo it in 3 years. lol. Constant road work. Greasing somebody’s hand I am sure.

  33. Well hello Tucson because we are headed directly toward the same shit-show Portland has brought on themselves. Our Mayor and council do not think the homeless addicts that do fentanyl publicly at our bus stops is a problem. In fact they give them free bus rides and they can do it in there. These (most) addicts do not want shelter. The washes are ok with them to do their drugs and steal whatever they can from nearby neighborhoods. So welcome to the same

  34. I would choose the VA. It is more professional than any other medical provider in Tucson. I’ve been to all the others and have horror stories about TMC. Plus your student loans are forgiven after 10 years.

  35. Oh interesting! I didn’t realize there was a VA in Tucson!

  36. But then I just saw you do babies, so va wouldn’t work. But it still is the best. I wish I could go there. The cancer treatment compares to Mayo Clinic. Happy that my husband is being treated there

  37. See a movement disorder doctor at Mayo Clinic. I see dr Mehta at Scottsdale location. He diagnosed and treated my dystonia.

  38. Find me a restaurant, grocery store or food manufacturer that gets inspected more than once a year in any city, county, state, municipal, country….

  39. The better question, once per year or not, is whether the health department softened their inspection to the point that it is not effective. “Educational” is what they deem when a restaurant has infractions. The measure is worthless. So once a year or not doesn’t matter.

  40. Yup, they stopped. Just letting the roaches and unsafe food practices take over now. (In other words, of course not.)

  41. Omg! And men tend to pay less attention to hygiene anyway…so bad combo
