The DS Foundation makes key-beds that specifically address this issue... some people simply can't play certain pieces on standard keyboards to to the size of their hands, so the DS Foundation have developed a range of different standardised keyboard sizes. The DS5.5 standard is the size that is most appropriately suited to the widest variety of hand sizes.
The real question is : Does the Kickstarter Edition will support the firmware update with the MPE and the BLOCK OS 2.0? Because for the LUMI Keys 1 it's clear but for the KE it's nebulous.
They are not quite identical. SBB snap cases won't fit the LUMI very well, but LUMI snap cases will fit the SBB, but just slightly loose. The reason for this is that the keys on the LUMI make the LUMI taller than the SBB by a few millimetres.

Yes, KS edition ill support the new SE firmware.
