  1. eh, isn’t the only reason they did that was bc of cap space. Since there was not rookie wage scale. Like they prolly should’ve tried to trade back as much as they could but.

  2. With the hawks he was mediocre to bad in a 3-4 based D but in a 4-3 He was one of the better players on Defense. Idk abt his time in buffalo tho.

  3. This isn't nearly as much of a thing as people think it is. Boundary corners and field corners play their assignments in different ways, and it's very rare for a CB to excel at both.

  4. also realistically no receiver faces true double coverage more than like 10% of the game. There being two players in the area is usually bc zone man combos. Rules like MODing a player leads to “double coverage”

  5. This should suggest the same thing should happen with WRs since it’s common to have 3-4 of them in your formation. But the financial value of WRs skyrocketed instead.

  6. a single wr can completely transform an offense in a way a single corner can not. For a pass defense to be performing well every player in coverage has to be a good enough job to matter. Where as one receiver can blow open an offense.

  7. when derwin’s in kelces kept to his average to below average games for the most part when derwin’s hurt (rip usually) kelce goes off

  8. The tag is one of those things that's great for teams, but absolutely sucks for players.

  9. naw it’s great for the vast majority of players it just sucks for the top stars.

  10. So the people that command top dollar and lose a year of their limited prime earning potential in a career where any play could be your last due to injury?

  11. I mean that vs the people who do not command top dollar making a little more per paycheck where their earning potential could be completely cut within that year due to injury… yeah I would think so.

  12. As good as Witherspoon is, one more loss and Seattle sits at #3 and I have to think Will Anderson is in blue and green

  13. It's the NFL, though. Nobody sucks... However, I agree. On extreme, there should be disparity between team capabilities

  14. on extreme it should make even star player 5 stars and non starred player 2-3 stars

  15. Every two days, someone has an epiphany about Justin Fields. Unfortunately, that epiphany isn’t “he doesn’t seem to be a quality quarterback.”

  16. Saints shouldn’t had trade him away. I’ve always said that was a big fuck up on them. Trading your QB favorite target for a center and LB was stupid

  17. and Seahawks should’ve never traded for him. One of the Biggest lose lose trades I’ve ever seen.

  18. I agree, good explanation. I would say Cousins could fit that bill, even Dalton line Dalton couldn't win a playoff game but I think Cousins has better stats partially due to JJ. Idk probably a ish take.

  19. I don't think Gronk redefined the position and to some extent I think that furthers his greatness. Gronk did what all tight ends are asked to do, he just did it at a level of excellency that it looked like a different ballgame. Folks have tried to mimic Gronk. They can't.

  20. I don’t think he refined the position but he was essentially perfection (albeit injuries) at the position. Thinking a good comparison to him would be Tyron smith on the Cowboys where a healthy player was pretty much as close to perfection as we could see it.

  21. I didn’t realize Badley was the kicker absolutely support going for it outside of 45 now

  22. He is lost in the sauce, love the lions but man the fans have been annoying in the success lol, forgot not everything is about the lions

  23. tbf I’d absolutely be that way too If the chargers looked like they had a legit shot at winning the Lombardi and not just in the regular season.

  24. nojs says:

Carrol and Herbert would be a vibe though

  25. also Pete would help capture the LA market. If not Harbaugh Pete would be one of the three I’m interested in

  26. Really should've fired Staley earlier in the season and tried out Kellen as interim if we were actually serious about him

  27. Niners could’ve had micah parsons, cole strange (pretty good guard) and Joey porter Jr. instead they got a qb that threw less attempts in his whole high school to college to NFL career than brady did in a single season.

  28. There were two things Brady did CONSISTENTLY, which significantly contributed to his team winning:

  29. also he knew how to protect his receivers. He would the ball in a way where the receiver could either be led into yac or avoid a hit.

  30. For him, not winning a SB is an early exit lol

  31. legitimately getting knocked out before the superbowl was an early exit for him though. he made the super bowl in 10/22 seasons so almost half the time he was playing in the superbowl

  32. Quite. If he was a constant Calvin Johnson style threat he would also consistently draw double teams making it easier for us to get Bobo, JSN and Lockett favourable match ups too. Plus I still don't understand why we don't utilise him like Deebo and have him coming out of the backfield like a RB. His size and 4.3 straight line speed would be another wrinkle for defenses to scheme for.

  33. he doesn’t have the agility for that… the most important trait for an rb is agility. I’d trust lockett or even JSN more in that typa role

  34. Chargers fans, who are y’all wanting for the next head coach?

  35. Just clean house, all coaches and assistant and coordinators. New regime from the ground up.

  36. everyone except the ST cordinator* He’s been doing a remarkable job this year

  37. Just to clarify Stey doesn't call plays right? He's only responsible for the defense?

  38. Someone else said Moore calls offense he calls defense, which is true lol

  39. my fault I misread ur question, yeah staley calls the defense, offense is moore wit staley giving slight input I imagine

  40. AFCW for me they have Andy Reid and Mahomes with great WRs. The defense would be incredible too. Idk how you configure the DLine but with Maxx, Jones, Bosa, Mack and more they’ll manage.

  41. ngl I think Tuli>Bosa as a pure pass rusher rn but that’s just kinda my hot take
