  1. You want to not run out of gas? The imxrt 1170 or 685 are probably good parts to look at. 685 has a cortex-m33 and xtensa hifi pair with specific dsp instructions that work well for audio.

  2. Probably cost, at a million a year pennies per matter and I'm sure the manufacturer or distributor would have charged more. Also it was a Freescale micro and when they were bought by NXP their support chain went to garbage. We moved to Microchip on new designs even though we were evaluating an NXP micro that did everything we wanted.

  3. Has NXP ever recovered… Freescale had some pretty interesting stuff, NXPs home grown part lines have never seemed as interesting.

  4. It doesn’t matter where in the loop you put this stuff if the state machine can take longer than your allotted budget. You need to know your worst case there and if your budget is smaller then you have a few options.

  5. Yeah. I got a similar quote and also DIYed it along with replacing some rotted stuff.

  6. Whats the point of a pick up these days exactly, pray tell.

  7. Death of course seems like a wild sentence for this sort of thing. That said, it isn't the first or likely last time the proverbial guillotine has come out into play for this sort of bullshit.

  8. Menards pulled this shit on me on a return rental pick up. Claimed all sorts of damage wasn't there when I got it but was on return. Shit was scratched and dinged and rusted already. I guess they just needed enough "claims" to start saving for a new one.

  9. You know it compounds right? With 10 years of 2.5% inflation, prices are 20% higher. With 10 years of 3.5% inflation, prices are 40% higher.

  10. CPI is arguably manipulated and under represents real inflation costs. Add to that salary stagnation and the disparity of wealth and reasoning behind it becomes ever clearer.

  11. At 15-20mph why even bother with a 3500lb - 7000lb vehicle when a 25lb bicycle or 50lb ebike would suffice.

  12. If you are truly concerned you could get a touring bike like the long haul trucker to start. They are comfortable for long distance and are built to carry.

  13. Wait. You’re telling me if I happen to encounter a bat/racoon, I need to ensure that I don’t die by getting a rabies shot (obviously) but that will cost me $30k?

  14. Yeah, my entire household, all 5 of us, got these shots after a rabid bat scare.

  15. What is with the hospital look going on, white cabinets, white counters, white walls, white floors… do people live in these places? Warm wood and earth tones feel cozy. White looks so stale.

  16. I mean in all cases you'll need to resort to assembly if you want to implement a traditional task swapping where each task has its own stack.

  17. Has pf been ported? That would seemingly be a large issue?

  18. Carp and pfsync was the major feature I was thinking of, it was awhile ago that I looked though

  19. Atomic in what way, if each core has a core local data cache then it’s possible the write is never seen by the other core. If the concern is rather could the value be partially mutated when the other core sees it, it depends but probably not for machine word sized integers where bus transactions work in the same width.

  20. The processor A writes chunk of data into the shared memory and increment the integer value for each data chunk. The other processor uses this counter to get the information on how many data chunks are available for transmission over ethernet.

  21. You need to cache flush that data then you can send an interprocessor interrupt with the count or write an atomic after the flush and poll on the other core

  22. Outsourcing cashiers didn’t work… why is this not surprising

  23. Map doesn’t show Jefferson Park or past… house for 350 is still possible.

  24. What winter, it barely snowed or got below freezing. Will be like Tennessee or Arkansas a few decades ago now or soon

  25. check out the fish shell and how they went/are going about it as thats a pretty sizeable project doing the same thing

  26. 787's are cool but haven't made a profit and may never make a profit. 737 Max is a disaster and still lags behind the a320neo in basically everything... orders, efficiency, safety, comfort... Is there really a surprise there's been a revolt of the customers?

  27. How do I hear about these community meetings? I live I. The district, and I would love to show up and support new development.

  28. Yes, Agilex5 support will come with Quartus 24.1 next week.

  29. What version and cost? Will it support vhdl2008 without added costs?

  30. that's not really how you're supposed to use RTOS. You don't monitor and react, you design to ensure schedulability.

  31. Until the proverbial (I mean no real death or harm on anyone) guillotines come out for the rich
