We are still about 2000bps lower than 1980 when they ACTUALLY reduced inflation with rates.
If I recall correctly, there is about a 6 month lag before we see the real effect of a rate hike. We are already fucked for inflation and they screwed any chance to get ahead of it.
And they will quietly increase the Reverse Repo interest rates at the same exact time.
RRP rates are interest rates... they automatically will go up with rate hikes. Why would lending money on RRP not be affected by a rate hike when every other loan is??
