  1. First of all, there is nothing wrong with you. The reality is that lots of candidates are overqualified right now as a result of all the layoffs in the last two years. It is an employer's market. The situation is frustrating, but you aren't alone. Many have been there prior or are there now, including myself. My recommendations are let go of the sentiment of " I am overqualified, I should be getting this job." You are competing against overqualified candidates. Next, see this as a numbers game. It is just about applying as much as you can. To improve this, leverage things like linkedin and recruiters. Both aren't perfect but will bring jobs to your attention you might not see otherwise. Finally, give yourself a break. You will get a job if you do the things above. It's a mental battle at times. You have a better buffer than some with 3 months. It will be ok.

  2. This looks great. Open to sharing the design? Been evaluating getting a 3D printer. Something like this is tempting

  3. Understandable. I don’t play birthing pod in my list due to focusing on tribal themed cards. I cut dwarves recruited a while back due to redundancy. Would love to hear some interesting tech at some point. This is my list for reference:

  4. Any board wipe options you are really enjoying? Whelming Wave and Silumgar are the two I typically lean on

  5. This looks great. Crazy what you accomplished as a solo dev. Did you hire any temporary work? For example, for art or anything. Always been curious to hear how a solo developer goes through all the parts of designing a game

  6. My first love when it comes to Magic is enchantress. I've had an Abzan enchantress deck since 2017 which has gone through multiple iterations but is currently headed by [[Anikthea, Hand of Erebos]]. That deck my baby and I'll have it forever.

  7. My forever deck is Yoshimaru-Rograkh backgrounds Voltron deck. If you want a decklist I can post it here

  8. How is starscream testing for you?

  9. The deep dive would include sitting down with the owner/operator and generating the SOPs for business ops based on their knowledge and expertise and using that to either train the new owner, or generate best hiring practices to help hire the new person to do the same work. A lot of these businesses aren’t super complex, even though it looks like the owner is doing black magic voodoo. I have owned and operated quite a few businesses, at least one sweaty one.

  10. Would you be open to more questions on this? I’ve been evaluating doing this for a few years but never found someone who was doing it. Would love to pick your brain

  11. I am starting a “boomer rebuild” business where I go in and restructure the business internals and make these businesses buyable. I have started contacting brokers to sell them the service pre-sale, so thank you for confirming the need for this service.

  12. What is required to make “businesses buyable” by your definition?

  13. I have a Kros deck and definitely recommend it! My deck runs a bunch of creatures that place counters when they etb, plus some blink and proliferate to make sure I keep placing counters every turn. Its very easy to keep the whole board goaded, and when its down to a 1v1 I have theft effects like [[Cytoplast Manipulator]] and [[Willbreaker]] to close out the game.

  14. [[atraxa, praetors’ voice]] level up counters like [[hexdrinker]].

  15. Interested in that Arden deck if you got a list

  16. I’ve had a blast refining my [[Yusri, Fortune’s Flame]] Draw deck. It’s gotten to the point of evil and it can rip through the whole deck in 6-7 turns and occasionally win on 5 or even 4. Super fun commander and really shows how the Coin Flip strategy is a hidden gem. Not so hidden anymore but still 🤣

  17. Can you share a list? This sounds fun

  18. Hi everyone, I am the guy who designed all of these cards. To add a little bit of context, all of this stemmed from an idea that I had when I noticed that all 5 members of our playgroup aligned more or less to each of the 5 colors. What started as an idea of a fun surprise Christmas gift ended up being me sinking hours into making mechanically unique playable cards that were flavored around the common tropes, playstyles, and inside jokes of our playgroup just to add to the authentic feel. I did not realize that everybody would want to actually build a deck around them.

  19. You did a great job. What did you do to build their aesthetic? My group would love something like this

  20. I tried to just fit them into a color that suited them best, most were easy, then just tried to build them around mechanics that they typically play with or inside jokes (daniel for example tends to hold up blockers a lot, likes knights, and plays with some of the most expensive cards/decks in our pod, so i built him around treasures and creating a defensive wall out of knights) (little did i know i made him broken) and then it was just about coming up with ability ideas and trying to make the card art reflect the general vibe i was going for

  21. Did you design the card Art yourself? Where did you go to get the cards made?

  22. I have 2 decks that I absolutely love from this year.

  23. Care to share your Ashad list? Been looking at him

  24. Most of what I do can't be shared as the data is protected but here's a flight cancelation and delay dashboard that got me national media coverage in summer 2022

  25. Appreciate these examples. You’ve done great work. Do you ever find customers preferring PowerBI or some other BI tool to Tableau ever? If so, do you offer that as well? I use these tools and SQL but it isn’t a core part of my job. Evaluating devoting more time to them. Your post just happened to pop up at a good time

  26. Yes I have a handful of clients using PBI instead of Tableau. I have a client that switched to looker. I was a flex labor hire for a client that was entirely data studio.

  27. That’s great. Really excited by what you’ve done. Could you walk me through what a full transaction with a customer looks like starting with the initial evaluation? How long did it take to feel confident in your tableau abilities to offer it as a service? What has been the key benefits of SQL? What has it changed about your offerings? Thank you for your feedback

  28. Majotity of my clients are either cold messaged through facebook or have directly contacted me. It's just me running this on the side and just got into SEO. I do more social media management and web design than SEO so far.

  29. Can you elaborate on what type of social media management you do?

  30. Thank you very much! Your encouragement means a lot to me in helping me not to give up.

  31. What do you mean by indie creator? It sounds like you are referring to any side hustle style job.

  32. Funny story, I'm in a very similar situation working on a finance tech team that would like to make the full time transition to game dev at some point.

  33. How is this going for you? I have been thinking about doing something similar to what you have mentioned so I would love to pick your brain on it.

  34. This is a cool idea. I’ve been looking for another deck, actually been thinking about Chiss Goria. Maybe this is the one I need

  35. Would use this as my main monitor for gaming in a single monitor layout. My Alienware is starting to go out, so this would be perfect.

  36. [[Wernog]]\[[Bjorna]] pair- blink Wernog to make a ton of clues to use for all sorts of artifact value

  37. Open to Sharing your wernog and Kros lists?

  38. [[Emry, Lurker of the Loch]] - artifact combo. I only play it when I want to play the highest power I have. It’s really gross against casual decks but kind of low end of cEDH.

  39. Interested in the Zangief list if you open to sharing

  40. The new [[Rocco, Street Chef]] went straight to the top of my now 12 commander decks. He's just insanely strong and too much fun. What's the icing on the cake is that most of the time the entire table is having a blast aswell.

  41. Open to sharing your list? He has been on my short list for new decks

  42. Myrkul is neat and green does arguably have some incredibly strong enchantments. If you enjoy infinite combos, myrkul enables quite a few of them.

  43. Does this deck do well at most tables? Interested in it but concerned about it being too fragile

  44. Would you like a list for inspiration? My deck runs really smooth.

  45. Only new commander so far from this year [[hidetsugu and kairi]] . It’s mostly spell clones, I think 12-13 different ones and reanimation spells both single and multi target chaining off to generate massive amounts of value.

  46. Did your group feel ok about that deck? Thinking about building it but worried it won’t be fun for the table.

  47. Eclipse Uplink all day. Been an amazing disc and the glow plastic will be a nice addition

  48. Practice your system skills like Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, and SQL. Financial analyst roles come down to experience, skills (like system knowledge), and critical thinking. For an entry level FP&A, coming in with solid knowledge on the tools above is a large advantage.
