  1. That's not really the point. We can at least acknowledge that some people are gonna be into this kind of stuff. It's a kink. That on its own isn't unhealthy or wrong. There is a right way to do it. So it's silly to tell them they gotta lower their standards and follow everyone else's vanilla dating preferences. But for god's sake they need to learn how consent plays into this.

  2. I grew up in a matriarch and my ex friends merely parroted what our moms taught us that we "must" set the standard to ourselves through men. This meant that even if a woman is in a respectably high position in her career, she doesn't get the same respect to some women because if she's unmarried and no kids, they just see you less for not "fulfilling your matronly instincts" hence the discord between women.

  3. Did he really just say that Trump was trying to fix the country? lmfao

  4. Trump bungled a pandemic because he thought it was only impacting blue states and then didn't want to encourage masking during a pandemic because he thought it would make him look weak then proceeded to be hospitalized with Covid.

  5. The more I watch what Trump did during the pandemic--ESPECIALLY behind closed doors--the more I'm starting to believe that he and his friends wanted to do a "Big Short" on the US economy. He knew how bad this virus was. He knew. He told people that he knew. He was scared to death of the thing. He's a total germaphobe.

  6. It is very clever, but the issue is, once people find out the cards don't work, they will go back to the store with the card and receipt in hand. Sooner or later the store will realize the card was tampered with, and check the entire rack, if more cards are found they will tell the cashier's about the scam.

  7. The problem is that it's a gift, and we're so close to christmas. The card is going to sit around undiscovered for weeks until the gift receiver tries to redeem it. By that point the scammer has had weeks to yoink the cash from their burner account, launder it, etc. Chargebacks would be trying to pull blood from a stone at that point. A person's basically going to have to go to the fraud dept at their bank or credit card to get it rectified. The scammer's only going to lose out if they get caught red handed somewhere along the way, but they have a long grace period right now.

  8. Yeah, that one got a chuckle out of me. Reminds me of all the young people who would get upset because I was carding them. "Uhmm, EXCUSE ME? I am TWENTY THREE YEARS OLD, not a CHILD."

  9. I like how consensual sexual relationships between adults is a no-no but their own police force raping people with broomsticks and bottles is a-ok. I mean, they have to protect those family values, all under the guidance of a man who left his wife and wouldn’t acknowledge his daughters!

  10. The root of all LGBTQ+ hate is spiteful bastards who have fucked up their own relationships so bad that they gotta make up shit about other people to explain why they failed. People who failed to come out of the closet are often the loudest and most resentful.

  11. As a 'LGBT', no, it fucking isn't. We're literally just something to beat on. The most dangerous element of any society is the testosterone-fuelled heterosexual working age male. Once they unite against the government, the government's toast, if not through pressure then through sheer violence a male body can unleash even with his good ol' fists. So what do you do? You arbitrarily pick a people with certain traits, make them an outgroup, and tell your men and their wives to go beat on those, so that they don't come after the government. It's not even about sexuality, it's about class, dominance, and keeping your population docile by directing their anger elsewhere.

  12. I agree that this is how it ultimately manifests. They're just looking for punching bags. They learned how to find joy in cruelty (and in this case the government is actively teaching them how to do it). And then it's just a matter of enjoying the violence and looking for new ways to "branch out" with their new hobby...

  13. "Ultra-processed" according to Brazil is actually a pretty straightforward and generally smart way of looking at foods:

  14. Does it have to meet all those criteria or any of them?

  15. This is a great way to put things in perspective. As we DRS more those big days are gonna take up a bigger and bigger percentage until the numbers become absolutely ludicrous.

  16. The games don’t cause any issues. It’s the people because of them not getting proper psychological attention needed from an early age.

  17. Holding a virtual gun and going "pew pew" at other people has never been the issue. Only dumbass suburban facebook warriors believe that.

  18. Twitter and Facebook both have places where psychiatrically unwell people get to meet. If someone’s meeting through a game like this it’s not because they want a rebellion

  19. And people rightly condemn Twitter and Facebook for it all the time.

  20. Binance ate half a billion dollars worth of shit on that one. Gotdamn.

  21. Fuck those sharks. It's only one of many, but few deserve to fail as hard as them.

  22. No one wants to speak this answer, because it is useless to help anyone improve their marriage. But the most important factor in a good marriage is choosing the right spouse in the first place. Someone who shares your values, who matches your level of (for lack of a better word) selflessness or selfishness, and someone who is going to grow in the same direction that you do over many years.

  23. Yep. I feel like people who say "marriage is hard work" tend to gloss over this fact. Yeah, relationships are work, but that doesn't mean that you should play the Sisyphus game with someone who is incompatible with the life that you wanna live. A relationship is a partnership, not a friggin charity. You go the extra mile because you actually care about them and want them in your life, not because you feel obligated or responsible. Sometimes people gotta go through a lot of really bad relationships before they learn this one. There are fates worse than being single.

  24. A constant problem here - I live in the same city as the video: They’ll drive one cars-length behind each other at 80mph. There’s literally zero chance of not wrecking if someone slams on their breaks. Why would you wanna put your life in the hands of a stranger like that?

  25. Well, you can always just chill in the right lane if you don't feel like getting mixed up in that shit. That's where I drive. I only get in the left lane when I really want to pass somebody. And if I'm in that lane, I'm gonna hustle and get out of there as soon as I can.

  26. I bet $100 he blames the guy he was trying to pass for his troubles.

  27. Can we at least agree that they both suck? People shouldn't be swerving and passing on the right, but people who drive slow in the passing lane suck ass and break the flow of traffic. If you're in the left lane and there's nobody in front of you and somebody behind you, you're doing something wrong. You don't feel like speeding? That's fine. Just move over to the right lane.

  28. FTX is just another stupid Mt Gox. It just hurts em enough to feel pissed off about it because they lost spurious "crypto based" shares in its collapse rather than a bunch of crypto. It's not like they cared if the shares were real or not. They were just mad because they needed em to keep their books balanced and juggle FTDs cycles. It's the only reason why so many billionaires and massive institutions would keep "assets" like these tied up in a central exchange. Now they gotta find another CFD exchange where they can "locate" more crypto-based shares that were yanked out of the friggin void.

  29. I think Ukraine would be on to him and not prematurely pause their offensive

  30. Yeah, haven't they said as much already? They ain't having peace talks until Russia agrees to get the fuck out of Ukraine. And they mean all of the land they tried to claim for their own.

  31. This is still alive and well today in college textbooks. They come with a code in the back to access the homework and software used in the class.

  32. Textbook price gouging should be illegal. If a teacher requires a particular textbook for their curriculum with no alternative publishers, there should be price caps on it. Textbook codes should be banned outright. Tuition is expensive enough as it is. If tuition can't cover a professor's pay adequately, then wtf are students paying all this friggin money for? Where does that money go? Fancy looking buildings and a cafeteria? Fuck that, I'd rather attend lectures in a friggin rat-infested mobile home than spend all this money on prime real estate that only makes the college look good for recruiters. I'm paying for a fucking education, not the aesthetics. The professors shouldn't have to double-dip by charging us out the ass for textbooks. And they shouldn't be able to either.

  33. In all this time I've never bought a single cosmetic piece of crap anything. I don't even feel envious of the people who have them. It's usually the opposite. I see someone wearing flashy pointless armor or riding a glowing mount from some in-app store and I just think "wow, what a tool."

  34. Things must be really bad if they keep postponing. Guess I'll wait another 84 years.

  35. Considering that these exemptions started in 2013, they've built up about ten years worth of really bad shit by now.

  36. I know that this manga is pretty much virgin bait, but damn, imagine an 100 cute girls polycule, it's hard to not be interested

  37. The premise definitely sounds like virgin bait, but I have no idea where the inevitable conclusion of this could lead. Even mormons would find 100 "a bit much." Sounds like a recipe for pure madness and chaos.

  38. Sad posting? Or social media in general?

  39. Sad posting or--as old people used to call it--fishing for pity/sympathy.

  40. If they are slashing big boi bonuses....it must be REAL BAD.

  41. It's pretty bad for BOFA right now, but the moment they start slashing the D's that's when you're gonna see some serious shit.

  42. Isn't the "under over year" more a function of virus mutability?

  43. Serious question: does it matter if a study into the production of HIV antibodies is blinded? If placebo worked to help you generate more antibodies surely we'd just... Be doing that already?

  44. You have to worry about "side effects" as well, some of which can be caused by a placebo as well. Placebo effect can do some weird stuff that skews the results, which is not good for science. Too many reported side effects can put a drug or vaccine or treatment trial on hold or prevent it from moving to the next stage. If they turn out to be psychosomatic, that's going to get the baby thrown out with the bathwater.

  45. Any and every online multiplayer game might as well be rated M. It's hard to find one that isn't full of trash talking 12yr old memelords who think that swearing and trolling = funny. This kind of unmoderated environment is gonna keep creating more people who treat racism and pure hate as a joke. It also makes online games so annoying to play, because not only are the jokes and memes tasteless but they're usually boring as shit. Nothing more exhausting and lame than being stuck in a room with some kid who just learned about swearing for the first time.

  46. I just read through this manga and damn is it good. I thought it was one of the few good isekai/western fantasy stories out there. Solid themes. A good self-aware twist on the classic tropes. And yet... wtf is up with all the reviews? It seems universally hated everywhere I look.
