  1. I can literally give you a budget for a single person on 40k a year in my area. If people start taking on more expenses without any idea how to pay for it, that’s not really my problem. Instacart is a low stress, low skill job. I believe everyone should have shelter, food, energy, and transportation costs. That can all be done under 2400 a month. That leaves about 500 left over from take home. That’s just based on 40 hours. It’s literally a gig job with zero barrier to entry, no time commitment, and no real bosses. You got to fuck up pretty bad to get fired from these delivery services based on some of the behavior I’ve seen. There’s never been a better time to enter the workforce to start a career.

  2. 2400 a month is rent for me, and I am not living a life of luxury. You just live in a really bad area.

  3. So instacrt drivers should live in penthouses now? I don’t get your point. I personally moved from a place where my rent jumped to 2600 and now live in a “bad area” for 1400 because I retired before things went wild and moving overseas soon.

  4. You’re being willfully obtuse about that actual cost of living in this county. And you sound like you don’t really understand so I don’t want to argue about it.

  5. Oh so it’s not hateful to shame someone for how many kids they have? To tell them to just abort because you think they have too many? How you get off Reddit or keep your views to yourself.

  6. There’s nothing wrong with abortion. Get your head out of your ass, you sound like a dumb bumpkin.

  7. Well, I said abortion, not murder. If you want to frame it that way that’s on you.

  8. There’s no way this is real. Some asshat actually typed all that disgusting shit out and sent it to you?? C’mon.. no.

  9. That would make my day. I hope you live nearby :)

  10. I just came here to say take the Virgin cruise. It is FANTASTIC.

  11. What kind of age ranges were there? My interest is piqued but I fear I may be too old for such a thing (43)…

  12. I’m 40 and my partner was 50 and we fit right in. I’d say most people were late thirties/early forties. Only a few 20somethings. It was seriously the most relaxing vacation ever. Not having kids around makes a galaxy of difference. The food is also amazing and the ships have a great vibe. We went to the Caribbean last year; doing Greece next spring and I can’t wait.

  13. Shouldn’t have to calibrate a digital thermometer - is it glitching out or did someone mix up C/F?

  14. It’s reading 20° under what it should be. Fuck if I know why.

  15. Maybe you’re just 20° higher than you should be. Didn’t think about that, didja?

  16. To be fair, if I thought you were only tipping ten bucks and you wanted me to say happy birthday to someone, I probably would not. Idk, if I knew it was $20 maybe I would, but that type of request bugs me. I’m not a candygram, I’m just trying to buy your groceries. No offense to you or anyone else that doesn’t find this weird.

  17. $10 tip with ‘if you do a good job I will increase’ is a no from me. I think once in 3300+ shops has this actually happened. It’s usually people who rate a 4 because ‘nothing is perfect’ 🙄

  18. Hello!! I've been thinking of doing instacart for some extra income but wasn't sure if it would actually be worth it in the end! Do you make a decent income from it? And do you think it's worth it if you don't have a car with good gas mileage? Sorry to pester you!!

  19. So strange because when I was OLDating, I made SURE to put the most accurate/recent pics up so people wouldn’t be surprised in person.

  20. Do not get tattooed by this person.

  21. I almost got a tattoo at 15 and I’m SO GLAD I didn’t. I also regret the ones I have from 18.

  22. Have you seen their money? Everyone is struggling. When the economy is bad everyone struggles. Rich don't look like they struggle because they still have some money.

  23. However, I will say the so called filthy rich won't tip regardless of the economy situation. Even if it was going well, they don't tip. That's how they got rich.

  24. They do tip and that’s why I do this. There are amazing tippers in my city- IC won’t show me the orders, that’s what this post is about. If you’ve done this long enough you can tell when something is fucky, and this is beyond fucky.

  25. I have to agree, with shame. After so many years of listening to the same issues and stories, I am just exhausted and tired of hearing it. There is also the issue that there is no reciprocation. For example, when I am going through some serious stuff, every conversation gets turned back to their issues.

  26. I don’t really have advice, just came here to say that I (40) recently met my absolute dream guy who is 50. It happens! Hang in there.

  27. Same. It’s fucking bullshit and I hate that it happens all the time. I’m basically only getting shown batches that are already boosted, and even then it’s a fraction of what I’d normally see. Cool! I don’t need to pay rent or anything!

  28. I'm literally wearing a silk jumpsuit to a formal wedding tomorrow. It has a very low back, a coordinating shrug, and I have a matching fascinator hat. Accessories are key for taking something simple and elevating it for formal occasions.

  29. Cancel it. Someone else will shop it.

  30. There are a lot of people who use this service because they can’t do it themselves. Fuck off with your can’t afford to tip don’t use bullshit.

  31. It’s not like we’re the post office; it’s a gig, it’s work. We are trying to eat too.

  32. Like.. Met gala but not as crazy? That’s what I’d imagine.
