BerriesAndMe

  1. Walking in can be great or a nightmare. After Corona the demand sky rocketed while during corona a lot of the hostels had to close.. so particularly in popular places hostels (especially the good ones) book out week to months in advance.

  2. To be fair it's fucking painful to be around someone that you love and rejected you.

  3. Because they see you as another human being not just a sexual object.

  4. I've talked to 3 different people at customer service, and each time, they only tell me there is nothing else available. I'll just keep calling and seeing if something becomes available. I'll bring that up next time and try to push them booking us on another carrier if there's still nothing available.

  5. Check on their website what flights are offered today/tomorrow to Budapest and say you want that one.. they'll likely bitch about not being able to book you on a partner airline.. but they can.. it just takes convincing (this is my universal experience. Not specific to Air France)

  6. I think Sanderson does a decent job in some of his books.

  7. Seems a little pointless to take satire and try to one-up it. Would have worked better with one that wasn't already making fun of the kind of men that think like that.

  8. I don’t get why his RETURN flights were also canceled ?!! Those were a separate ticket right?

  9. If you never went from A to B, then you also don't need to go back from B to A. In most cases this makes sense, particularly for business trips and shorter trips.. if I'm flying on vacation for a week and miss my outgoing flight, I'm probably not gonna by a one way flight for thrice the price two days later to go and return 3 days later.

  10. Yeah you're right. It's probably the wrong timing. Maybe the next group of people in the upcoming days can be more interesting. Also, this hostel claims to offer daily events like pub crawls, bbq nights, etc, but they didn't offer anything today lol. I will have to ask the reception.

  11. One thing that's really essentially is if you're traveling in high or low season.. in my experience party Hostels are really alive in high season and really dead in low season. There's no in between.

  12. Except for his kids. He needs to address that. Hard to give advice on how without knowing their ages. But they should not be part of a group text where people are bashing their dad. Honestly that’s the most worrying part of this whole thing.

  13. I don't think his kids are giving him hate. They're sharing screenshots of others discussing "his midlife crisis". They're not discussing it themselves.

  14. ...some of this things really don't add up. I mean, if he is popular on twitch to make enough for rent, why even have a fundraiser in the first place? That doesn't make any sense.

  15. Because he's lying to OOP about how successful he really is.

  16. I am sure there are some folks as you described, but the majority pay their taxes in the US and abroad. Many are engaged doing good works in their local communities abroad as well. Not sure what triggered your post, but I think you are painting with too broad a brush.

  17. Lol @ painting drinking an overpriced hipster coffee as good work in the local community

  18. That's a good point. That has me a bit concerned, as it's the third one I've found in my kitchen in the past 3 days. I can't seem to find any place where they would be nesting, though!

  19. Some live in pre built holes. Eg the ones from the Ikea furniture. The solitary bees don't build hives.

  20. Probably different between US and EU then. Here we have contractors who work on some project from X to Y, and between that all the time spent, including meetings, is counted as a work hour.

  21. That's a subcontractor who is an employee at another company. They'll have the company contributing to retirement and health insurance.. a 1099 contractor is essentially like our self-employed people. They don't contribute to your social security and don't get to make claims on your time.

  22. Still of my SO had a problem with it I wouldn't go..blow a relationship to flex or wait til I'm with mynSO and experience it together..and not with a single gf that youKNOW hooked up with sone random while you WAITED in the corner . Foh

  23. Honestly if my SO wasn't going to let me go dancing without him because he thinks I can't control myself and will fuck someone, I'd probably be single fairly quickly too.

  24. If my SO was insistent on going to a sex/kink event without me she’d be single fairly quickly

  25. It's not a sex event. Berghain is a techno club where some people have sex. The huge majority of people go there for the music even if you may see some people having sex. It's not like she was asking to go to a strip club or something (which would be more sexually charged than berghain)

  26. No. Most people will assume it's the city trying to figure out if the bike was abandoned or not so that they can remove it.

  27. We also clean out bicicles every other year, but next to the notice we put out, we will put stickers on the bikes that say something along the lines "If this is your bike, feel free to remove the sticker. Every bike that still has a sticker on by date [something in two months] will be removed." So, if people haven't seen the notice, they will know once they see their bike. Just a red ribbon on the bike seems not enough to me for everyone to know what it's about.

  28. They may have had a sign up at the parking spot they were attached to the bike. I've seen this before.

  29. I always book the cheapest rate and book up to 6months in advance. I mostly do short getaways though... So if I have to cancel, it's not a lot of money.

  30. Is that it? Is there a racial element here?! Oh man, if she's not white, he really skewered her right in the Non-Western Beauty Standards insecurities

  31. No it's totally not racist because his ex was black /s

  32. Yeah I'm kinda curious what he said.. because the sentiment of "my type became her" is actually kinda sweet. If you focus on the part where he wants her and not the part where he didn't want her.

  33. Because it’s an extra load or more of laundry every week. An extra load or more of dishes every week. Extra dust accumulated throughout the house from an extra body being there. Extra garbage and food scraps to dispose of. It’s a person leaving a trail of dirty clothes on the floor that she has to pick up, random items being left out of place for the wife to have to find and put back where they belong. It’s a larger quantity of meals to cook, work lunches to prep, and groceries to manage. It’s another extended family’s worth of birthdays to keep track of and holiday gifts to decide on and purchase. It’s another schedule to manage your life around. An extra person adds up to a lot of extra work and if they’re not pulling their weight, that means the wife ends up pulling it. To the extent of 7 hours per week average.

  34. The question is more why does a guy not need those 7h when he becomes single.

  35. Either single man is doing fewer chores overall and thus living a lower standard of cleanliness than with the woman or when he's living alone he's more careful about his messes than when living with a woman. A man might not leave his clothes laying around if he's the one who has to deal with them but if his magical bang maid fairy takes care of all his messes, he might be inclined to get lazy.

  36. But if he's putting stuff away right away that counts into his additional work time. So that can't really be it.

  37. And most straight people don't say it to their partner either. There's a small subgroup of both straight and queer groups that do this and they're rightly frowned upon in both communities

  38. Every country in the world does bbq. It's really not particularly American.

  39. Exactly. OP needs to find out what she wants.

  40. Yeah for me the question is: is she doing it because it's what her family says they've done or is she doing it because she wants it that way.

  41. NGL being forced to live with something I'm allergic to sounds like a living nightmare. Hope the cat ends up fine though

  42. And 11 isn't really elderly for a cat. They'll probably live another 10 years... Which is quite a commitment for someone that's allergic. Plus a reason for the ex to come looking for them

  43. 10 more years is probably unlikely, but easily 5+ more years. My own kitty is 12, looks like she’s 1, and acts like she 5 or so. No one ever believes me about her age when meeting her. My parents cats lived to 18 and 19.5.

  44. Ours lived to be over 20 (23 and 21) and that seemed to roughly be what our neighbors cats lived to as well. Except one that unfortunately got hit by a car very young.

  45. Just tell everyone this was her second chance after she stated something similar on your anniversary. That should shut them up. NTA

  46. I've eaten eggs that had cooked long enough to burn the pot... Not my proudest moment but they're definitely still edible.. you may need to mask the taste.. so spicy egg salad?
