Not sure about Michigan, but here in NC I was able to get forgivable loans from the state that’s paid back with service in the state in that field. It’s worth looking into to see if your state offers it.
Nothing wrong with wanting an adult. Juveniles will be cheaper, but you can usually find sub adults or unproven adults for a bit cheaper than other adults. It’s usually the rare/cool morphs and the proven breeders that are expensive.
I wouldn’t use a screen enclosure like that, too hard to keep up the humidity. I use 18x24x36 for mine but I would say bare minimum would be 18x18x24 for a smaller adult. 2x2x4 is ideal.
I have this exact one and have no issues. It is kinda tall so if it’s under the basking spot it’s gonna be hotter at the top than a smaller hide would be since it’s closer to the bulb. Did your mom use a temperature gun to see what the temp was at the top of it?
i’m a bucs fan why the fans are crushed is w continuity all we needed to shore up was the trenches and db. but now we have to rethink everything bc we have a lot of vet free agents and bowles isn’t a very good coach. i think we should thermonuclear bomb the team but they won’t till it’s too late.
