  1. I quoted the biased narrative from the article, and spent the next three paragraphs responding directly to its claims, so it seemed clear to me where my attention was directed. This is the internet though, and misunderstandings are going to happen unfortunately.

  2. I believe that either everyone needs to register or no one should. As you may know the current selective service system discriminates based on gender making the current system unconstitutional in the law violating the 14th amendment of the constitution and the equal protections clause. For those who may agree i currently have a petition to call on congress and the senate to either abolish the selective service system or expand it to everyone to have equality in the law and i would really appreciate it if you can sign it to show your support for change to the current system.

  3. Conservatives are the ones throwing a tantrum over this.

  4. You are the one who's not Understanding. Sotomayor and the other justices that came out with her in the joint statement all suggested that the current system does discriminate therefore they would have voted to declare the current system as unconstitutional in the law.

  5. I completely agree with you that the selective service is a major inequality in the law and that we need to do something about this law.The current system as you probably know is unconstitutional since it discriminates based on gender therefore violating the 14th amendment of the constitution and the equal protections clause. There currently is a proposed bill in this years NDAA that will make the selective service equal which means the best thing we can do is to call our congress representatives and senators to support the selective service applying to everyone to get this bill to pass.If you are interested another effective thing we can do is to start a new lawsuit ourselves against the selective service system by starting a fundraiser to get the funds we need to start the lawsuit. Also I currently have a petition to call on congress and the senate to either abolish or expand the selective service to everyone to finally have equality in the law. Please consider signing it to show your support for change in the selective service system.

  6. How can you stand for equality and special treatment at the same time...>one word "feminism"<

  7. Conservatives are the reason why we still do not have equality in this as they are the ones who are trying to stop the expansion of the selective service to everyone from becoming law.

  8. But he’s cool with drafting my sons? It should be all or nothing.

  9. I totally agree with you either everyone registers or no one does.I currently have a petition that calls on congress and the senate to either abolish the selective service system or expand it to everyone and i would really appreciate if you or anyone reading this can sign my petition since the current selective service system is discriminatory and unconstitutional violating the 14th amendment of the constitution and the equal protections clause.

  10. Damn... the article demands you subscribe to their magazine to be able to comment. I'm not giving money to them.

  11. Yeah a lot of these articles have paywalls and do not let you comment unless your subscribed which nobody should do here since these outlets are conservative and are against equality in the law.

  12. How much are you willing to bet these politicians bitching about “dont draft our daughters!” have dysfunctional families? Ted Cruz whines about it, yet it’s obvious his daughters secretly hate his guts.

  13. You may be on to something with this comment. One reason why this might be is because conservatives are always trying to get people to become conservative/traditional even if they do not want to.The best thing we can do is to vote out any conservative that is against equality out of congress/senate.

  14. Totally agree with your comment.Chip roy is running for reelection this year which means that this is a good opportunity to vote Roy OUT of congress.Any one who is from that district that Roy represents that wants equality has a chance to vote against Chip Roy by voting for the person running against Roy in this year's congressional election.

  15. I know i keep saying this but i am going to continue to say this since this is very a important message and that message is that we all need to work together to finally have equality in the law.Conservatives do not believe in equality or the constitution and they will continue to do anything they can do remove this provision and stop equality from happening which is why we need to raise as much awareness about this inequality in the law.

  16. I disagree with "mental gymnastics". I don't think anyone wants the draft for women, but pushing it as an issue challenges the status quo and gets people talking about it for men as well. Not to mention that it gets the attention of feminist groups which are much more influential voices than those currently advocating for men. It might seem like an extreme measure, but it pales in comparison to plenty of other "progressive" demands.

  17. I get what your trying to say and i partially agree for the most part with your comment but i disagree with you in the first part of your comment when you said you don't believe anyone wants them to register. If the selective service is going to continue to exist in the law everyone should be required to register for it.

  18. I completely agree with your comment. We all need to work together this time to ensure that we achieve equality in the law by expanding or abolishing the selective service system once and for all. To anyone reading this please consider signing my petition that calls on congress and the senate to either abolish or expand the selective service to demonstrate that this is a major inequality in the law and that there needs to be changes to this law since the current system is unconstitutional violating the 14th amendment of the constitution and the equal protections clause.

  19. Time for the NCFM and ACLU to be loud and vocal about either including women or eliminating the draft. The former I think would happen first

  20. I 100% agree with you and your comment. We need to raise as much awareness about this inequality in the law.The NCFM and the ACLU should absolutely start a lawsuit if they can as well as use their platforms to be as vocal as can be on social media to send the message that discriminatory laws cannot stay that way and that there needs to be changes as soon as possible to this law.For anyone reading this i have a petition that calls on congress and the senate to either abolish or expand selective service to everyone since the current system is unconstitutional in the law violating the 14th amendment of the constitution and the equal protections clause and i ask anyone reading this to consider signing my petition to show that a lot of people want changes to this law.

  21. I agree with your comment but to add on to what you are saying conservatives just like last year are going to try to stop this from passing which is why we need to continue to speak up against this major inequality in the law. To anyone reading this Please sign my petition if you haven't already that calls on congress along with the senate to either expand or abolish the selective service system since the current system discriminates based on gender and is therefore unconstitutional violating the 14th amendment of the constitution and the equal protections clause.

  22. what are you talking about???

  23. What feminists have achieved is more bias laws against men and they see this as an attack it was a joke.

  24. Ok i didn't know you were joking.I would really appreciate if you can sign my petition to have equality since this is an important issue and inequality in the law.

  25. I have been saying this for a while now.If any changes are going to happen to the selective service it has to be done now.We can not wait until the next NDAA or later to take on this inequality in the law since it is uncertain if the NDAA will include a provision to expand selective service and we don't know what the results will be in the midterms as mentioned here in this post. The best thing to do although unlikely because of everything going on right now is to push congress to address this issue as a standalone issue by getting someone in congress to bring the selective service up to the congress floor. This can be done by telling our representatives to cosign the selective service repeal act or to write new legislation to expand the selective service law. In the meantime please sign my petition that calls on congress to either abolish the selective service system or expand it by requiring everyone to register. As soon as my petition gets enough signatures i will try to have a meeting with my representative to show them the petition and about making changes to the selective service law.

  26. This really seems to be a sore point for you, why? When was the last draft?

  27. It doesn't matter when the last one was there are still a lot of penalties for not registering simply because of their gender which is unconstitutional and therefore making this issue something worth taking on.

  28. And I agree with you that Congress has the authority to either abandon the selective service system, or to expand it to include women, should it wish to do so.

  29. Yup and you said a key thing in your comment which was if congress wants to do it.Congress was going to expand selective service to include everyone last year but conservatives unfortunately took down the provision that would have applied the selective service equally to everyone by requiring everyone to register.I would appreciate if you can sign it to show your support since i will be showing this petition to my representatives once the petition enough signatures.

  30. I dont think you guys are under that if women had act equal rights, it would abolish the antiabo movement.

  31. Can you elaborate on your comment.

  32. Ok i understand you now and I agree with you for the most part of everything that you said.I agree that Conservatives are the primary group of people that oppose the Equal rights amendment and also happen to be the primary group of people that are against you having the right to choose and us having equality in the selective service which is why it is important to continue to push for the ERA. By passing the Equal rights amendment and making it a part of the constitution it would practically guarantee that you have the right to choose and would guarantee that the selective service be made equal by requiring it to be abolished or to expand it to everyone to have equality.

  33. Looks like one of those weird windows snap modes. Have you rebooted?

  34. I don't want to shut it down i have work that can't be saved on a few windows.I am able to alternate the lighter shade to the other side and the split is exactly divided from where the camera is located.I am able to see and click on anything on the lower dock as you can see from the screen shot but the buttons on the upper dock such as file and are no longer there and i cannot click on an of the files in the home screen. This started when i accidentally pressed on the green button in chrome that makes it full screen. Is this by any chance split screen mode?

  35. I already pressed esc.I might edit this post to include a video of this issue to give more context on this.

  36. To anyone who may be interested and agrees with my opinion i currently have a petition to call on congress and the senate to either abolish the selective service system or to expand it to achieve equality and i would appreciate it if anyone here can sign my petition.

  37. I don't really believe in "leaving it" at all and I know many others are the same in this. Select service isn't needed. There is no situation in which the United States government would ever need to fall back to conscription. Raw man-power isn't nearly as important as it was during the times men were drafted. All it does is frighten people with the prospect that this may not be the case. All expanding it does is put that boogie man on everyone else when it should be lifted from young men.

  38. i agree the system is useless and that we should not be leaving it in place but you didn't answer my question.I asked what happens in the event where congress and the senate and the people that are in charge in making laws do not want to abolish the system. Do we expand it to make it equal or do you leave it discriminatory and unconstitutional like you seem to be in favor of. You keep saying we should abolish it but say no ways that would guarantee it would be abolished.

  39. Frankly, I think equality without liberation is meaningless. That's why I referred to it as 'token equality'. Men's lib is about liberating men, not trying to oppress women in the same ways men are.

  40. Yeah but what are you doing to abolish the selective service system completely.I am raising awareness and i even have a petition to get congress to do something about this that you can find in the OP but i know you won't sign it because it has the option to expand it to have equality. There has been countless repeal acts in congress with one in congress right now and despite this they have neither abolished it or expanded it to everyone to have equality.

  41. Honestly, it should probably just be abolished. I read a report from the Pentagon in 2017 that something like ~70 percent of Americans aged 17-24 were unfit for military service, either because of their education physical limitations or criminal history.*

  42. I agree 100% with your comment.Of course it would be better to abolish it but if they are not going to abolish the selective service system than they should expand it to include everyone to have equality in the law and to remove the discrimination in this law.The statistic you mentioned said it was that at least 70% of people of both genders that were unfit for service which is one of the many reasons why it would be a good thing to expand it if selective service is going to continue to exist in the law.I currently have a petition to call on congress to either abolish it or expand it and i would appreciate if you can sign it. You can find the petition above in the original post.

  43. This will not answer your question, but I heard of a draft resister who failed to register. He said that Selected Service sent him a notice at his new address whenever he moved. (As a student, he moved a few times.) He said that if they knew where he lived, there was no need for him to register. He was never prosecuted for failing to register because the Feds were only prosecuting openly declared resisters.

  44. Yes i am aware that there was a few resisters and the people that were mostly prosecuted regarding this were the ones who were most vocal about not registering.Despite nobody being prosecuted since the 80's this is still a major inequality in the law since there are a lot of penalties for not registering. The current selective service system discriminates based on gender and is therefore unconstitutional which means they are going to have to either abolish it completely or expand it by requiring everyone to register.I have a petition that you can find in the original post above that calls on our representatives to do something about the selective service by either abolishing it or expanding it and i would appreciate it if you can sign the petition to have equality in the law.

  45. What doesn't it have to do with it? The USA military and its allies discriminate against male prisoners of war, how is drafting women into an organisation that abuses male prisoners of war in a discriminatory manner going to help mens rights or equality? It isn't.

  46. You really don't understand do you.making everyone register for the selective service if selective service is going to continue to exist would ensure that everyone is liable to the penalties for not registering rather than how the current system is that penalizes people simply because of their gender for not registering.

  47. Yes I do understand. I also understand that extending that to women is not going to help mens rights, unlike draft abolition for everyone, which would help everyone.

  48. Yes but in the event that congress doesn't want to abolish it than the right thing for them to do is to expand it to remove the discrimination in the law.

  49. I don't have discord but i really like the whole concept of your discord server.I hope you get a lot of people to join your discord server.

  50. Conservatives are absolutely misandrists, they are pro male only draft, pro alimony, anti reproductive rights for men etc. Don't let their sweet talk deceive you.

  51. I totally agree with you.Conservatives are the reason why we still do not have equality in the selective service system and in other issues like the one's you mentioned.I hope that people that care about these issue's and inequalities that still vote conservative stop voting for conservatives and start voting for people who actually do care about doing something about these issue's and inequalities in society and in the law.We need to continue spreading the word that conservatives are not on our side and continue to stand up for our right's by pushing for changes in the selective service system and other inequalities in general. As you have probably seen i have a petition that calls on congress to either abolish the selective service or to expand it to remove the discrimination in the law. It is very important to sign if you haven't already to send a message that discriminatory laws will not be tolerated to stay that way.
